Son arrived today with his wife to be, she didn't think she could come at first, self employed, but rearranged some meetings but has to go back to London early, she paid £49 to come out and a shocking £511 plus charges, to go back on Sunday, so much for Easyjet cheap airline , what a rip off.

We are flying to Edinburgh return in January . 174.50 return for two (not each) which includes 20 each way for a case. It all depends when you fly, in season or out.

I have to go to the West country in a couple of weeks to bring some things back to Cyprus. My first port of call was the Easyjet site to fly to Bristol.

The cost was the wrong side of £500 before adding suitcases!

In the end I booked Aegean from Larnaca to Heathrow, going out economy and coming back business class (for the 2 x 32Kg suitcase allowance) and a hire car and it was still cheaper than Easyjet, and I know who I would rather fly with!

It also depends when you book, hence the intense interest when flights actually open online. There are only so many 'cheap' seats allocated per plane. Once this allocation of 'cheap' seats are sold, which is usually PDQ, then the remaining seats are sold at normal commercial rates. These may still seem to be slightly lower than other airlines, but once the add-ons are accounted for ethere are few savings.

I always book at least 6 months before my flights to Paphos from Manchester

I have never paid more than £200 return including bags.

If you have to travel at short notice that's when the prices go up.

I usually fly out with one carrier and use another carrier on the way back...this very often brings the price down

Well worth a look

It's the last weekend before the kids go back to school in UK so flight prices are currently at a premium if trying to get seats now...

In a large part of the UK (most of Scotland) the schools have been back for weeks.

Who told you that?

English and Welsh Schools....i.e. a large part of the UK (Fact), go back on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

I didn't say the largest part ,just a large part. The reason I know is because in my time schools broke up at the end of July and went back in the 2/3 week of august as they did and do in my children and grand childrens time.Scotland is 32% of the uk so is a fairly large part.

You are referring to land area, I suppose, not population numbers ?
Since when have schools only closed for 2 or 3 weeks during summer ?

I used to get 6 weeks or more off in the Summer, as did my kids, grandkids and when my great grandson starts school next week, I'm sure he will as well.

I suppose that's so you can have a good stab at when Summer is in Scotland. Nearer the equinox the better chance of seeing sun!! :sunny :crylaughin
