For those that are not aware there are new traffic lights now in operation at Potima Bay, this is about time as there have been many accidents with drivers coming down the hill from Kissonerga and pulling out in traffic from either Coral Bay or Paphos.

Were they switched on yesterday afternoon then? They weren't on earlier in the day!!

I agree they're an excellent idea BUT we all know how they react to lights here - fingers crossed there are fewer accidents! I hope those pulling out of the kiosk are extra vigilant too!!

Hi DollyD, Were switched on after lunch, sadly you are right about the attitude where red lights are concerned, suppose anything is better than nothing.

The lights will slow the traffic down in that area ...which is good

That's the general idea......but Cypriots don't like slowing down which will cause problems!!

The insurance assessors are already there far too many times as people just don't slow down for the speed bump.

i am not looking forward to being stationery at the lights coming downhill from Pathos towards Pegia.

Must check to see if I've got any Insurance.

And check for a good map ... to find 'Paphos'.
(Pathos ...a quality that evokes pity or sadness) ... Although that description does fit, sometimes. ;)

Driving to Kisonerga from my beloved Pegeia this morning it would appear that the road forking left up the hill at these lights, whilst not a designated "filter" route, is being treated as one. Beware, there is a filter right turn at the lights coming down the hill from Pafos.

I think It is a filter lane. It has a STOP sign to allow you to check for traffic from the right

Not sure on this one, will have a detailed look next time I leave my beloved Pegeia.

In my humble opinion, this is NOT a filter lane as traffic from the right filter may well assume right of way.

I'm sure the boffins will work something out eventually.

Traffic from the right WILL have right of way since the 'filter lane' has a STOP sign and a solid white line
