I have had both very good and very bad reactions regarding the recent
hard stance that we adopted over the past month , we have been in the past a very liberal
forum, which was almost self moderated , then a few that were given an inch, took advantage
and grabbed a mile ..
well that has been stamped out..
someone posted the other day that they thought this forum was on the slippy-slidey road..
Well I can confirm , they could not be further away from the truth than they think..
I have been keeping an eye on the stats , not only with the clicks on pages , the amount of posts on pages and the performance of our google ads ,,,
I can tell you , we are a very busy and well attrended forum.
To get back to the start regardingthe swinging of the axe , this has also had a very
positive effect on the forum , it seems people are more likely to post and take part in the forum
when they know that they will not end up in an arguement for no reason or be abused by a keyboard
bandit..
which leads me to let you all know , we will from now on , be swinging the axe more often, it seems that by clearing the weeds , its allowing the garden to thrive..

What a pity it has come to this anyway. A difference of opinion and a healthy debate is one thing but the sort of verbal abuse that is personal is beyond the pale.

I do think that when the ax(e) has been swung, or a yellow card issued, the offender should be notified which post was the one that caused it.

I have always tried to be fair with my comments and will not, and have not said, anything to, or about someone I would not say to their face.
I got a yellow card last month and I have looked at my last 3 months' posts and still cannot fathom out which one it applied to.

Just a thought.
