Hi we appear to have a leak from a water pipe at our property in Stroumbi can anyone recommend someone who can trace leaks and fix.

Many thanks Dave

Do you know if the leak is before the meter or after the meter? Tracing a leak is usually quite simple- the wet ground gives it away because the "pipes" (invariably hoses) are seldom very deep and very easy to fix if they have not been concreted over

If it is before the meter it is the water authority's responsibility, if it is after the meter (ie the meter is turning due to the leak) then it is your's

If it is after the meter I can recommend someone from Polis (he lives in Goudi which is quite close), but there must be someone a bit closer who can fix it as well ?

The leak is after the meter. I have checked the perimeter and can see no obvious leaks. If you could give me the number of the person then I would be grateful. Thanks in advance Dave

Forgive me for asking this, but have you tried all the obvious things first?

Before calling anyone out, make sure that all your taps are turned off, inside and outside. Also consider whether neighbours/workmen could be helping themselves to your water.

Next, make sure that none of your toilets are continually siphoning, as that seems quite a common way of losing water.

Also, in this heat and if you can, have a look at the pipes going to your solar panel and water tank as hot water pipes in particular are prone to rupturing in really hot weather like we have had recently.
