They are indeed refurbishing the area and this is the last area to be finished.

Here's hoping they get it up and running again and the whole redevelopment of the area is a success.

Going there was always part of our holidays back in the day, and many of the most successful tourist destinations also have an "old town" area with decent shopping and cafes, along with artisans shops and artists studios which are the very heart and soul of towns just like Paphos.

The whole area was quite shamefully neglected under successive dubious mayors and their equally dodgy developer backers. Reversing the decline would be a huge step forward for the whole town

Totally agree - can't wait for the area to be finished as the overall feel of the place will be greatly improved.

The reason I chose Paphos to buy was it was real - unlike place such as Protaras which was lovely but a holiday resort and pretty much closed for 3-4 months.

Appreciate not everyone thinks of Universal as real Cyprus or Paphos but for me - its close enough or far enough from the crowds to use as a base for holidays. If was to stay more permanent perhaps would consider a more outlying area - everyone to their own.

Ps and not too far from the Curry House!
