A soldier "drowned ISIS jihadi in puddle as group fought terrorists with bare hands".
A GROUP of SAS soldiers surrounded by up to 50 Islamic State extremists fought their way to survival with their bare hands, it has been claimed.

One British fighter drowned a jihadist in a puddle, while another killed three extremists by beating them to death with the butt of his rifle.
Almost every member of the elite unit returned to operations two days after their miracle escape.
The team were reportedly ambushed by the ISIS fighters as they completed an intelligence gathering operation close to Mosul, northern Iraq.
After a four hour gun battle with the terror cell, in which roughly 20 ISIS fighters were said to have been killed, the SAS team were trapped by a river bed with then 10 bullets left between them.
An elite group of SAS soldiers are said to have pulled off a scarcely believable escape from ISIS.

Rather than be kidnapped and beheaded, the group resolved to go down fighting, convinced they were all about to die.
They shook hands, said goodbye to each other, and charged at the jihadiis.
The source said: "Rather than die on their knees, they went for a soldier’s death and charged the IS fighters who were moving along the river bed.
"They were screaming and swearing as they set about the terrorists.
“They fired off their few remaining bullets and dropped several terrorists before setting about them with whatever weapons they had.
“They bayoneted, slashed and beat the IS fighters to death."
One soldier in the Special Boat Service, an elite unit of the Royal Navy, killed one of the terrorists by forcing his face into the mud and holding him down until he drowned.
“He then picked up a stone and smashed it into the face of another gunman wrestling with one of his colleagues.
“Another killed three of the fighters by using his assault rifle as a club.
"Others were stabbing at the gunmen who wanted to capture the British troops alive.”
The soldiers were described as fighting like "crazed warriors", killing 12 terrorists in the space of five minutes.
The surviving ISIS soldiers are said to have fled.
“It was a classic case of Who Dares Wins," the source added.
Apart from two soldiers who suffered minor gunshot wounds, all the members of the unit were said to have returned to active duty two days after their incredible battle.

This is a story to gladden my heart.
I'm sick to death of reading about commie traitor politicians in the press, let's see more of this type of article.
They (ISIS) think it's all over, it is now for these scumbags. :uk

I thought there were no British troops fighting in Iraq. The ones there were only there as advisers.

I believe it was the SBS, not the SAS, but same difference.

The special forces in Iraq are there to gather intelligence, presumably so the RAF knows where to drop bombs to do the most damage? It goes without saying that if they are ambushed or discovered they are going to fight because being captured by ISIS isn't really an "option"

How accurate the story is may be debatable, but it certainly would not surprise me if it was 100% factual

The UK is playing a leading role in the 67 member Global Coalition (GC) committed to defeating Daesh – the coalition includes Iraq, European nations and the US. UK personnel are not in a combat role in Iraq (Operation SHADER) but are on the ground with coalition partners providing training and equipment to Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) and Kurdish Security Forces (KSF).

Intelligence gathering is not the same as combat duty, but in Iraq to gather intelligence you usually hvae to put "personnel" into a war zone and if you put personnel into a war zone it helps if they can look after themselves

SAS snipers are shooting ISIS fighters in this area as well (probably under the guise of "training" Iraqi troops to shoot straight ;) )
