We are returning to the UK for good at the end of July and our Accountant has complete our limited company tax return for 2016 but is unable to submit it through Taxisnet yet. Only self employed people can submit through Taxisnet at the moment. Anyone out there with any inside information about when Taxisnet will be open for limited companies?

Given that the individual returns have only been available for a few days, about two months late (and the processing about five years behind), who knows what the Inland Revenue have planned for companies. You or your representative will have to ask them - but don't expect a reply by e-mail.

Once you have left why worry?
IF they try and chase you for uncompleted 2016 return take 5 years to reply to any email, or like them just ignore it.
Oh yes, and dump the accountant - not needed now.
Geoff.

Hi Geoff, thanks for your comment.

I am trying to ensure there are no problems when it comes to tax clearance as we have sold our house and need to transfer title deeds to the buyer.

Understood! Well at least you have the TDs and transferring them over to the new owners should be an easy and quick process. A lot quicker than the Tax office that is for sure!
Some friends of ours had a similar situation. So they went to the tax office and paid some tax "on account as it were" and got a receipt for that. That was enough to get their TDs transferred, plus of course a letter from the local council/municipality that they owed nothing to them.
Geoff.
