The Marrakech (formerly The Bad Cat)

Has anyone tried the new ‘Marrakech’ restaurant on the Paphos to Coral Bay Road?

They seem to have a large selection of Moroccan and Lebanese dishes + 2 nights per week they have an ‘all you can eat’ buffet at €20 per person including free Belly Dancer

Not to eat it, but do that dance by yourself (or your wife) as a contribution to evening show ;)

Sorry but it's NOT the restaurant formerly known as The Bad Cat which was on the top floor- it's a separate unit on the ground floor of the same building.
I understand the ambience and food's delicious although they have been having a few teething problems, I will try it in a while I think!

Sorry my mistake.....saw Bad Cat sign was down and The Marrakech sign up........should have probably said in the former Bad Cat building. I have suitably chastised myself

The Bad Cat had both floors and if you had limited mobility you could sit downstairs to eat.

Is it any good?

Or
Is it as bad as the Bad Cat was?

Are you sure? Well I never heard of that whilst it was actually open, and didn't ever see anyone on any other floor and it wasn't advertised as such which possibly led to it's demise then?!!

Anyway that's in the past now but if anyone ever opens the top floor as anything they will need to add loos! Very bad architectural planning not to have them up there and a ridiculous scenario traipsing to the basement to spend a penny!!

Visited the restaraunt to look at the menu & drink prices with the thought it may be good to try.

Noticed that curiously the 'House' wine is the dearest on the menu @ 18 Euro (3 Euro above the average), surely not a good indicator?

Given the current vendetta on live entertainment by the Mayor, it might be that the belly-dancing with musical accompaniment will be short lived?

Three of us went last night and had the meze, €16 each, it was all very nice and different. As usual with meze's there is a lot of food to get through, we ended up taking the last course home.
The wine prices started at €14, we had Persefoni. The house red is €18 and white €14.
Apparently now at many places in the UK "house wine" is not the necessarily the cheapest, and people are caught out by ordering it, the excuse is that it is the restaurants choice wine. As ever, always check prices before you order drinks.
The surroundings are very clean and nice, especially out side, a very nice comfortable seating/smoking area, although we don't smoke, we went to finish our drinks, it was so nice we could have sat there all night.
We will definitely be going back and maybe order something different to try.
