Last night we were at Paphos Airport to collect our daughter arriving for her 'summer break'.

The antics of the taxicab drivers was something to behold, parking diagonnally across the access lanes, stopping to embark passengers outside the arrivals lounge with their hazard lights on & generally behaving as if they owned the place - absolute 'fred carnoe's'!

Made me realise what a bunch of half-wits you are risking your life with, if you choose to travel using their services.

IMHO everyone should avoid them like the plague!

I was there last night too. I saw the exact same thing. They drive down to the pick up point and stay in the lane rather than pull into the lay-by. Then take as long as they like to load their fares. Arrogant, rude, someone should control them better, it was manic last night even without their antics. But of course they are allowed to do what they like

It is not funny, if you were to do that you would have everyone giving you grief, for example last year I dropped off two friends outside the departure lounge, this erk of a policeman said move on, I said where to, look at the taxi's in front where can I go he looked shrugged his shoulders and walked off.

Any idea what the taxis charge for the airport to hotel journey.

Good advice that, we (well my wife to be exact) have only used Pafos airport once and she used Rocky.
Bottom line though is why does Pafos airport have this problem when Larnaca airport does not, at least nothing like as bad; both are operated by Hermes as far as I know.
IMO it is time these airports were de-privatized.
Geoff.

WE never use the airport taxis or transfers, we pick up a car at the airport that is left by Easy Rentacar (George & Kula). the last time we travelled to Cyprus the transfers were £45 each so we hired a car for £145 for the week, we got tour hotel in no time at all and we could leave for the airport at the end of our holiday much later than the transfer coaches and had use of the car for a week.
