Hello all Not been on for a while.
Went down to the hairdressers next to Philippos Coral bay, walked as normal in to find George was not there, it was a woman who was cutting a ladies hair, no good morning said no appointment no hair, well do have hair hence wanting it cut! - asked where George was, shrug of shoulders make appointment. Does anyone know where he is or can they suggest an alternative in and around Peyia district.
Thanks in advance Ian

"said no appointment no hair" - seems to me her difference between "hair-cut" and "hair" is _money_

George (and his ex wife) were my hairdressers for years but despite his expertise in precision cutting I eventually got fed up of his indifference and dirty salon so jumped ship! He's still around just maybe on holiday?

Alex at the Mill in Peyia village. 5 euro, can't complain at that price. Don't think he's changed his price in a decade.

Jim.

Update on the gents hairdresser, apparently George is in Nicosia attending his sick father, wish him a speedy recovery.
The person who he left in charge I will say no more, moving on, Lovely's' was recommended to me and today I went.
I was asked who cut my hair last, I replied, to which he looked heaven ward and said I will put it right for you.
Did a great job the cost is €15, ok it is €5 dearer but I was highly delighted and will now use him on a regular basis, thanks for the recommendation.

Here we go again NO I AM NOT MAD TANNY can you just please be civil, I would never call you mad so please retract that comment.
If you read carefully it is EUROS NOT STIRLING so 15 Euros divided by 1.15 exchange rate(harbour rate today) then that equates to 13.04 Pounds Stirling, how much do you pay to have your hair done, most women pay more than that, at least 20 Euros for a cut and blow dry that is over 17 pounds Stirling, hmmm.

 2 things
1. It doesn't cost Tanny anything for a haircut...however, I don't know what a polish costs.
2. You went to the wrong place at the harbour, I got 1:17 :celeb2

low voltage, why can't you see humour in things, clearly the shears were a clue. If you want to pay 10, 20, 50 for a hairdo then carry on and enjoy the experience.

I used to use the Arabic chap in Chlorakas near the municipality who would also burn off excess ear growth and pluck the nose hairs as well as a short head massage and hot towel. When he got to 8 (euros) then I decided it was the shears.

For that price I would also expect a good blow.

This is not London and therefore have no interest in London prices. This is Paphos region and the prices stated are certainly VERY expensive for a Gents haircut.

If you can find an elderly old school village Cypriot Barber who will give you a trim for a fiver then go for it, I live east side, and believe me you wont find any barber for that price, the minimum going rate for a shorthair cut is ten add a shampoo and tip and you will spent at least twenty.

Members say that €15 is too dear for a hair cut, I was paying €10 for rubbish now I am getting value for money, in previous posts some say that you get what you pay for. I will be interested to see what others pay for theirs, in that name the hairdresser location and cost, not just say I get it for xxxx.
