I think you are within the Paphos Municipality ..... responsibility of the Mayor ( not a village Mukhtar ).

Pafos Municipality,
28th of October Square,
P.O. Box 60032,
8100, Pafos, Cyprus

Unfortunately there are 8 Muhktars for the Paphos City. Obviously the Mayor is over them all, but I needed a photograph signed and stamped on the back recently, so went to the Town Hall as SFD has suggested. The lady in the first office as you enter will show you to an office at the rear of the building who has the names and phone numbers of them all. She is very helpful.

This sort of thing can also be done at the court house easily and cheaply.

I don't think they charge for providing a name, address or contact information :huff
What do they supply 'cheaply' ?

Wavy Dave, I understood that the Mukhtars were for the villages (e.g. Chlorakas, Emba, Tala, Tremithousa, Yeroskipou etc.) but that the 'City' is under the direct responsibility 0f Phedonas (the Mayor).
If I have the wrong impression, can to tell us which areas of the 'City' are divided under the 8 Mukhtars, please.

Yes for Pafos Mr Phedonas is the main man, however he has a number of appointed certifying officers throughout the city who can carry on much of the paperwork that would normally weigh the central system down.

Simple items like certifying documents, submitting application and similar may incur a charge but it is of the very small variety.

Maybe we were the lucky ones ?

No SFD, thats the normal way. Although they can charge and sometimes will they operate on a great face to face basis. Its always a great idea to spend €10 on biscuits as a small gift than €10 on fees, the ongoing relationship is worth it.

Athena once stamped a clients medical paper for me, she had to close her shop of the best part of an hour while she drove home and got the stamps, came back to the shop, had a natter and did the needful. No charge and a good relationship.

The complimentary coffee & biscuits were provided by the Mukhtar.
I certainly would not lower my standards by offering a bribe !

No bribes, the fee can be charged at the officers discretion, but why spend on a fe when everyone can be happy.

My comment about cost related to the certifying officers at the courts - I've never had to pay a Mukhtar anything - in fact they shouldn't charge at all in my opinion!

When I went to the council offices in Paphos, I was under the impression I needed to see Mr Phedonas, but I was told that the City is divided into 8 sectors, and asked for the exact position and post code for where I lived. That is when the helpful lady gave me the details of the correct Mukthar for where I live, so I don't know the boundaries for each of them, only which one is mine, who incidentally doesn't live anywhere near I live in the City, as he works via his own private residence and has a plaque on the door.

I was asked for a fee of 5 euros, which I have to say I thought was fair and reasonable, as the photos that needed his signature and official stamp on are vitally important to my wife.
