Got a couple of inches here in Lysos, it's still coming down heavily and shows no signs of stopping and yes, it's settling!

Everything looks so pretty when it's covered in snow, but sparing a thought for those who are adversely affected.

You sure John? 32F is freezing, -9F would be 41 degrees below freezing. Quite cold. Like North Pole cold

ADDENDUM: On another thread you've explained it: 9 degrees below freezing. Didn't think it could be 41 below in Derbyshire

OK 23F 9f below freezing, the thing is that on my temperature reading on my car dashboard it said -9f

It seems even colder here as all our curtains, rugs , cushions are packed and in the container - all pictures are gone and most of the furniture - it seems so bare!
Do they sell heated toilet seats in the UK?

Think the Queen has one. Are you returning to the UK?

According to AIK, one phase had blown and some people, like myself, had no electricity for 5 hours. :huff

Oh glad it did not affect us in Peyia! Had the Aircon heating on most of the day! I the 12 months that we have lived in this house we have never had 1 day without water and no major power outages - 20 mins about the most !! Now the other house less than a mile away we had water cuts every single day in the Summer.

Make sure there is warm water in your hot water tanks, helps prevent the pipes & panels from freezing - we were told this tip by a Cypriot plumber and although Polemi can be a bit of a frost-pocket at times, we've never had burst pipes or panels, unlike some of our neighbours.

Here is another tip to prevent bursting pipes, especially with cold water, - run water just little bit during freezing hours.

After watching outside night temp (easy task as I've a temp sensor and can see the temp on remote screen), I can say we did not cross the critical point, min temp was 1-2C.

I'd rather spend a little more, avoid inclement weather .... then enjoy more time in the sunshine myself. :pow

Kay, could you please share technical details of making underfloor heating ? Is it water pipes ? Or electricity ?
