Apologies straight off, this is not Cyprus related!

But, just watched a guy on 'The One Show' talking about what he was doing, and what several hospitals are doing, to recover hospital aids which have been loaned out. Theses aids are costing the NHS thousands, if not hundred of thousands £ a year, when they are not returned. He is working with several hospitals to organise the recovery of these aids - crutches, walking frames, toilet aids.............the list is endless. He highlighted many of the things which hospitals are doing to recover these aids - bar coding them, telephone help lines, amnesties.........apparently an amnesty in Liverpool recovered over £300k of aids!!

Many, if not most, of these aids are languishing in sheds, cupboards........ People just dont see the urgency, or the cost, of not returning these aids.

So - it crossed my mind that even though the majority of us in Cyprus can't do much to accelerate the return of these aids, virtually every one of us have friends and relatives still there, so why don't we all urge each and everyone of them to do whatever they can to get these aids returned to the hospitals??? Whatever it takes, amnesties through the local council, drop off points through amenable local companies, urging induviduals to return them to the hospital, urging hospitals to instigate bar coding so that they can track them.............. there must be tons of stuff which I can't even think of!

But a start would be to urge everyone we know to return any aids 'borrowed' from their local hospital!!

This stuff is costing the NHS a small fortune, so can we do a bit to help?

I know, there is a massive push at the moment through the government to start recovering medical costs for those not entitled to free NHS care, alongside which the lost and missing aids are a tad futile, But every little helps!!

Im facebooking this right now, please, any facebookers, or any other social media users, post this!
