Hi PP,
whilst on our hols last week in Paphos we went down the harbour to the hot dog show and what a great day we had! I like animals but have never really fancied a pet, and then our eyes met across the crowded harbour, the most beautful dog ive ever seen ( baring in mind im not a dog person!) I went and askeds the owner what breed of dog it was and she told me it was a husky, very unusual looking but gorgeous! Anyway, we had a great day and saw the dogs doing some very interesting things including the raf police deogs jumping 8ft over a fence. Just wondered if any of you were down there that day, my mum thought she saw Jean but wasn't too sure!

Emma

Neil,
my mum wanted one of your burgers but she left it too late and when i came to get one you had just finished so close to meeting a fellow PP.....yet so far away! ha

Pete,
shes lovely! i think im going to wait and see what happens with the move and wait til Beaus a bit older then do major research because im not up on dogs, however the lady at hot dog show had rescued three huskies and i asked her about their temperament with kids, she explained that traditionally they were used by the eskimos to keep their babies warm and protect who they see to be the most vunerable family member. i think they are very striking. Did you rescue Noushka i have looked on the net over here and they are very expensive to buy.

hi emma,
my friend i work with has a eurasier(sp) which is a type of husky breed i think they are very beautiful ,i like you am not a big pet lover but we did want to get a dog last year...however when visiting a friends puppy, robbie had a terrible allergic reaction to the pup, he was very poorly and i got a real fright...(typical nurse will deal with any emergency as long as it is not me or mine!!!)....so no dog for us.
google that breed and have a look, not sure you would get one in cyprus, think my friend paid £500 for fudge!!!

Yeah, we got Nou-Nou from Pathiakos Animal centre at 10weeks old & to buy a pure-breed Huskie will cost you around £800 with papers, around £300 without papers :D

I'm hoping to get a pure-breed when Noushka is old enough to play mother to her, as she's unable to have puppies herself now :D

Pete,
what is Noushka like for malting i heard their quite bad, also has she got a relaxed temperament or is she quite giddy? Are they expensive to keep?

She malts quite badly due to her having 2 coats & living in the heat over here, she has a fantastic temperament tho if a little excitable now & then due to her still being a puppy but she'll grow out of that :D

She's very lovable, dead easy to train & very rarely barks like other breeds, Pure-Breed Huskies are even better as they learn very quickly but you need to keep them entertained a lot more or they get bored very quickly

Pete,
yes i heard that actually, the lady i was speaking to had three and said she is forever brushing them and vaccuming after them but i think it would be worth it! Some people seem to say that you should have two because they don't like being on their own as i guess traditionally they would be in packs

Its very true, they're pack animals & should have a partner in crime but Nou Nou is ok at present, as she stays with me all day in the shop & is with us 90% at night, so doesn't get miss not having a partner in crime :D

She's very loyal & very loving & very cute, which doesn't help if she'd mis-behaving but you still have to remember one 'She is a dog after all' :D

Emma, I think I saw your little boy with his face painted (recognised him from your other post). Did he buy some sweets off our stall? You probably did see Jean, she was official photographer (again) for PP'ers and there were quite a few of us!!

Karen,
we did go to the stall but he thought it was too hot for sweets and opted for an icecream but you may have seen us having a look. We really enjoyed the day but kept wondering how long the host would last in her catsuit on such a hot day! ha

Emma

Many of us girls were at the show, that is Golf widow (Kate), Duchess (Jan); Minerva (Ruth); Tiggy (Helen) and we also saw Jean.

Tiggy's dog (Kofi) and Ruth's dog (Bracken) won 1st and 2nd dog in most handsome class and Kofi came 2nd best in show.

Pity we didn't know you were there, we would have loved to have said Hello to you all. :morning :morning
