Just heard yesterday that a very dear friend of mine, single parent who has lost her own parents, has been diagnosed with skin cancer, on her head, and will need an operation, and skin grafts. The consultant told her it was in the mildest form, so that is encouraging, and I am assuming it is not the melanoma type from what I have heard.

I was just wondering if anyone out there has any encouraging tales to tell, or any experience with this. :(

Hi Mandy,
Sorry to hear about your friend, and wish her all the best for her future treatment. :there
My ex Father-in-law was diagnosed with skn cancer, many years ago and he is still doing very well! I dont know what treatment he had etc, as never see my ex hubby now anyway, but I always ask my daughter that when she see's her dad, (very rarely  ) to always ask about her grandad, and she always says he is doing really well, fit and active and he is over 70 years old now, so he is doing well. :celeb2
I hope someone else can come along and give you more encouraging words, but that is the only experience I have had with someone with skn cancer.
Sending positive vibes to your friend. :greetings
Wendy.

Sorry to hear about your friend Mandy - although there are so many forms of cancer being treated on early diagnosis now, that the outlook is very good. My father had something removed, getting on for 20 years ago now, that the doctors told him was cancerous and he is in fine fettle - although he does resemble a stick of chalk because he never goes in the sun at all now!

Hi Mandy,

Really sorry to hear about your friend. I do not know a lot about skin cancer but know a few people who have it removed and been fine. Give your friend our best wishes and tell her to think positive, it certainly helped Ken.
