Managed to get in touch with Paphiakos and took it straight round to the vet there, who unfortunatly had to put the bat to sleep, so just want to say a huge THANKS to Paphiakos and the lady vet and also to the lovely receptionist.
My daughter was a bit upset at the end, as she had been stroking it and talking to it to calm it down :there

I really dont know what kind of bat it was, all I know is that it was soooo much larger than the ones I had in my garden in UK
It was probably about 12 inches from one side of its wings to the other, saying that I dont know if that was large or not, as like I say I know nothing about bats, but to me....it was large
I did feel so sorry for it, it was looking at me like saying, 'please help me'....awww no wonder Sophie was upset, she had been trying to get it off the post by stroking it and talking to it :there and even a lady passing tried to help by giving her a bag and telling her to try and get it in that then take it to the vets, then she walked off
I like bats actually, as like I said we had them in the UK, I even had a little house for them
At least its at peace now.
Alex, I think you have sent vibes through my Charlie to get me to have loads of animals like you haha
Thanks all for your concern. :greetings
Wendy.

Gary, I sometimes have to look twice to see whether what I am seeing is a bat or an owl. We had small bats in the UK where I used to live. The ones we have in Narnia have a wingspan of more than 12 inches. But they eat the bitey insects and have radar and don't bash into me, so I don't mind them.

We also have lizards living inside and out - and they eat those horrid things that I don't like, so I welcome them, too.
