Just a note for those lucky enough to have large investments - as of 1st January 2016 - the protection afforded and offered by the Depositors Compensation Scheme of £85000 per person per institution has now been reduced to £75000 - so review what you have and where you hold it....... if you can
NOTE ....the €100,000 limit PER PERSON PER INSTITUTION remains unchanged

Is that for the UK, or Cyprus, or both?

doesnt matter where the funds are in europe the limit is now 100,000 euros or the equivalent as of now is approx £75000 per institution per person

the rub is that for those people who say invested funds at the old rate for a longer period they will be at risk although the organisation has said they will allow and thus protect for 6 months to give time for funds to be moved to "safety" - stupidly they assume that the finds can actually be moved.....

they really should have honoured existing investment arrangements

source http://www.fscs.org.uk/what-we-cover/el ... it-limits/

so i think anyone who has invested sterling sums abroad in excess of £75k need to check and be aware of their risk
