OK, not a pleasant subject for Sunday afternoon, but unfortunately I have a blocked sewer pipe and need somebody with a high pressure jet to unblock it.
Any recommendations as to companies that are still in business in the Paphos area would be appreciated.

Would rods not do it? They are available from larger hardware stores. A much less expensive option and they are what I would try first. Just a thought.

Hi,

I am a plumber and would always recommend starting with rods, the other options can cause damage.

Couldn't use rods in this location as the pipe goes around a right-angled bend and there's no rodding eye. Typical Cypriot builders!
However, all is now clear thanks to Hydrajet!

Glad you got it sorted, but a decent set of rods should have a rubber plunger attachment which should be able to compress the air in the pipe and force the blockage through, even round a bend.

We have had a few blockages since we have lived here, but have never had one yet that we haven't been able to shift with our trusty of set of drain rods that I bought from ScrewFix many years ago.

Band, is there any chance to see your lovely [must have] tool ? It's just to be sure if I'll buy right one...

Sounds a bit inappropriate, but I'll show you the drain rods! ;)

Yup, looks just like the set I have. Though never (yet) had to use them in earnest.

Thanks.
I thought it's metal build, but it made from polypropylene with metal joints...

What I'm particular like, it has other purpose - clean chimneys !

The rods are semi-flexible, so with the right brush on the end can be used to sweep a chimney.

For what they cost I would still prefer to call in a chimney sweep, as they have a vacuum to extract falling soot. Unless you know what you're doing, sweeping a chimney can be messy...and is best left to pros. I have a contact number if anyone's interested.
