Curiouser and curiouser. Why would you look where you never look, but not post where you never look?

Quite simple: if you've been banned from that site, you cannot post there.

And even more curiouser, if you've been banned from that site why would some one keep looking there?

Not curious at all. I know a number of people who have been banned from posting on that site who continue to look there. And why not? Probably same goes for this site.

You can get a duplicate MOT Cert from ANY MOT testing station; All they need is the Registration Number. They will charge you about €3.50 however, whether they did the test or not.

Believe it or not, sometimes people ask the same question on multiple sites. Members reply to the question on another site but think they replied on here…a short time later, we get irate comments from them about posts being removed when they were not even on here in the first place :doh

I am inclined to think Geoffreys reply is bang on.
Kili has lost mot certificate and is worried, I see no reason for worry.

Just as a follow on from this, I see that Dee has got her MOT done again as it was almost due, and the centre advised her to renew tyres. I struggle with this. Either the tyres pass the MOT regs, or they fail??? My garage always tells me if they fail and as such he cannot pass them for the MOT. Whilst I accept that he may be stretching it somewhat, surely tyres either pass or fail the MOT??

I'm no mechanic by any stretch of the imagination , but surely there is a point at which tyres either pass or fail? And I'm by no means criticising Dee's garage, I have heard this on more than one occasion of testing stations.

It just puzzles me?? Is it not such a fine line??

Why don't we ask Dee what the MOT testing station actually said?

I find advisory recommendations useful. A car can pass an MOT but that is only an assessment on the day the test actually takes place. If the tyres pass, but the tread is so low that they are likely to become illegal within the next 6 months, that is the usefulness of an advisory recommendation.

You can also get an advisory on tyres if they have sufficient tread but are not appropriate tyres for Cyprus. I had an advisory a while back for tyres on a car I had recently purchased because they were cold climate ones, meaning they were unsafe if they got too hot, on the motorway in summer for example.
