Just in case anyone is wondering why our forum admin is unusually quiet today, he's laid up with a dicky tummy :puke

I'm sure he'll be fighting fit again in no time - in the meantime, I'll be around if anyone needs anything. :D

Mrs. Pete in lieu of Mr.Pete here!

Pete asked me to sign on for him and to thank you all for your concern but he is doing okay. As you may or may not know by now, he suffers from IBS but this aint IBS more like a touch of something gastric....nasty!

He has only just had food today for the first time albeit 2 bits of dried toast after not eating since Sun pm ....and he was just saying last week that he needed to shed a few pounds :smilielol

He hasn't been to work since Saturday and I'm choked with the cold so giving him loads of sympathy NOT!

Well...as Bugs Bunny would say "That's all folks"

The nurses on the forum have been telling him to get to the doc. But you know what men are like.

Glad to hear that he had eaten a small amount this morning, otherwise I was tempted to get a posse up and drag him to see someone.

Now that he is eating he should get on his feet and start getting back to normal again.

If you relapse, Pete - GO TO THE DOC! Even I would do that - and I don't consult doctors unless it is really necessary.

Well this is my first time back after 4 days away & I'd like to say thank you to all that posted above, its very nice to read your post & even better to know that people out there do care, so thank you :D

As Jackie said earlier, I suffer from IBS but when I've just been through was more like IBS, Gastro-enteritis & Migraine all rolled into one, (believe me, manflu has nothing on this  ) I felt like & still do to a point, an old man, all my joints ache, stomach cramps, hardly any sleep, I've not eaten so feel very weak & even when I do try to eat something, dry toast or bread, its too much like hard work

But I felt a lot better this morning so decided to open the shop & save Jackie getting yet another taxi but haven't done much since I got here, apart from catch up on emails & pms, nearly all of which have made me feel a lot better :D

Anyway, back to catching up with 4 days worth of posts, lets hope Martin was able to control you all while I was away :D :D

Well I was feeliing a little better after work yesterday so I thought I'd try Franks suggestion of some Heinze Chicken Soup & it tasted so scrummy & felt so nice to be eating something but that feeling only lasted a few hours & now I'm back to square one & have an appointment with Dr Dora, as I was awake most of the night with stomach craps because what I did eat yesterday didn't stay with me for long :( :(

Just back, you're right Marj, she is a very nice lady indeed, checked me out, blood pressure, breathing, check my stomach, my tongue, says I'm dehydrated even tho I've been drinking a litre & half of water a day, perscribed me some medicine & told be to start eaten more solid foods, so that my stomach can start to bind again, if it doesn't clear up over the course of the medicine, I've got to go back for stool samples to see if there's an underlying problem  Lets hope I don't need the revisit :D :D

If you are going to eat chicken soup it has to be the real thing - not something out of a can. No wonder it went through you again. Real chicken is a good thing to eat, or try scrambled eggs. Go with little and often to start with, and keep your fluids up. Flat 7Up is good to drink to balance your electrolytes if you can't eat.

There is something going about. I have just had a phone call to cancel dinner tonight as my friend is ill with what sounds like the same thing as you, Pete. And there are a couple of others with it too.

Being the sympathetic type I am off to Imogen's. No point me sitting around starving in sympathy, is there?

I'm sure Pete will find it very funny when he's feeling more on top of his stick :)

Made me laugh anyway!

We used to work night shifts where I worked previously and although they weren't too horrendous, we can hardly say we "enjoyed" them - but when we all got a copy of our contract there was a typo in there that said "when working sh its the employee will be required to work no more than 28 hours per week"

As we all agreed - Got it in one matey!
