Hi, we are out in CY early September and are looking to buy some logs so we can store them to dry them out for our 4 week stay in Feb 16. Do you know anyone who stocks them this time of year please. Looking for someone who can deliver around Paphos area. Thank you.

We use these guys regularly, the logs are sustainable hard local wood and they are licensed by the Forestry Commission.

We use the same people as DD; Irini and Frixos. Not only are their logs first class quality and seasoned, but they're priced well. Nice people too. You may wish to specify Carob, Olive, Almond and Lemon woods, as these are the woods which born best. We avoid Eucalyptus. Tell Irini what size logs you want too; this will depend on the size of your log-burner.

Thank you Yakflyer for your advice . We came out in Jan 15 and had no logs for our log burner ! we won't make that mistake again as when we did find a supplier it took 2 days to arrive, the logs where wet and hard to burn. We shall be ready next year and have logs to burn when we arrive.

Irini usually delivers within hours of the phone call, or if like us you're in the next village almost before you've ended the call and they're very good quality!

Should've mentioned it, but Irini does special offers during the summer months. For that reason I bought two loads in August.

Most sensible log suppliers do sell cheaper in the Summer for the same reason gas bottles are cheaper then too!

Say hello to Irini from me. We've known Irini and Frixos for many years. Lloyd

wood delivered yesterday, we have a small wood burner and bless her Irini cut the wood to size, no more chain saws/axes and other lethal combinations of chopping wood for us.
We paid a bit more than last year but seriously worth it as my hubby spent ages chopping wood from last supplier. Also the wood is of excellent quality; dry, seasoned wood.
Shed 3/4 full now may order another load in Sept to give us ahead start on winter.

Lovely lady, can't believe she has 7 kids {she looks amazing to have had 7 kids} - and Lloyd on recommendation I had twix ready for the children!

sorry Geoff just seen your reply - we paid 30 Euros more than last supplier but his wood was unseasoned wet and not cut to size, the 30 euros is well worth it not to have to cut it all to size as our log burner is small

Could you change the topic to more meaningful? Like logs for purchase or so?

...............because that would be a contradiction in terms!! No-one else has misunderstood so why fix something that isn't broken?

That's exactly what we have now!
TS could add question mark at list, as posed the Question originally.

I rather suspect most people have more pressing matters to worry about than trying to satisfy someone suffering with language pedantry

Sergio's problem is that he is Russian and has learned 'classical' English to the best of his ability. I know I couldn't express myself in Russian :doh

another madness embraced, I have no problem, don't put your words in my mouth or your thoughts into my brain!

Just discuss the point, not a person! Or you're not aware of rules when posting in forums?

Isn't the topic misleading?

Thanks Sadie, sounds a good buy. Cheaper than this end of the Island.

Just wanted to add another recommendation for Irini. Bought our first load of logs from her and Frixos a couple of weeks ago and looking forward to trying them out soon.
Also, as well as looking after her family, she does beautiful crochet work. I bought a lovely top from her at a Christmas fair earlier today.
Goodness knows how she finds the time!

Just make sure that you buy logs from a licensed supplier.

Irene is licensed, one of the few that are. I met her at ISOP today too...and I also wondered where she found the time to do all that marvellous crochet work. She was telling me that she is easing up a bit on her log-selling and is not now looking for any new customers. She will continue with existing customers and any which come her way via. the forums, but that's it. A truly lovely person.
