Our friend flight is 4 o'clock today and at 11.30 they were desperately looking for their PPs. They had their apartment up side down and inside out. They were on the verge of contacting the British Consul to see if they could travel with-out but as they had no other form of Identity with their Pics on didn't look very promising. After lots of deep thinking they remember they had been to the Laiki bank in Chloraka to close an account and needed the PPs- my friend Joan couldn't remember getting them back. Now because its Sunday will some one open the bank to look -- WELL its who you know in CY a neighbour made a few calls and within 15 mins some one from the bank opened up and their PPs were still there. Would they do it in the UK -- some how I think not. So Panic Over. Marj

Whilst Cyprus can at times be frustrating with all the bureaucracy and red tape I've often found that I can get most things done quicker and more efficiently in Cyprus than in the UK.

The key to success in Cyprus is that it's a small place and as you say Marj there's always someone who knows someone that can get the job done and solve almost any problem .

It's really refreshing to hear of the good things that can happen in Cyprus as opposed to listening to the knock everything crowd who often have nothing but complaints ~ and probably wouldn't be happy where ever they were.

That is excellent service - who said Customer Service in Cyprus is non-existant (oops, that would be m  ). It amazes me how many people in business, banks, doctors etc, give out their personal mobile numbers - this would not happen in the UK.

Bet they were relieved . . . . .

I find it amazing that I can phone our manager at Alpha bank and ask them to transfer money to a supplier etc and they will do it!

'Just come in tomorrow and sign the form Mr May'...

NEVER would you get that service in the UK...
