It doesn't surprise me, I used to use it a lot as we don't have a car for the whole holidays and it was really convenient for us to walk to. They then stopped the frozen goods but I kept giving them my custom as they still sold milk. Then this year they no longer did that so I only popped in there once looking for something else..... which they also didn't have!
Farmers Market (ex Spyrou) was probably the nail in the coffin. I'm all for supporting small businesses but at the end of the day they need to supply the goods you need.
Good luck, hope they do better in their new location.

Is that the same UK shop as the one that's in Tremathousa (not sure o the spelling)? Don't they have a couple?

I do accept the problems with these 'English' type stores, but have to say the savings on some regular items in comparison with Paps, Carrefour etc can be pretty substantial. I now find myself doing my weekly shop in at least 3 stores along the Polis road, as well as the petrol station, instead of just Paps or Carrefour! Savings do merit it though.

I believe they are 'relocating' to a new shop on the coast road

AFAIK the shops in Pegeia and Chlorakas are UK Foods Direct and the one in Tremithousa is Fallon Wholesale, which is not the same.

They are all the same owner a very nice Scotsman called Craig - the till receipts for the Chlorakas shop are Fallons Wholesale, so what?! UK Foods Direct is what it's also known as.

GEORGE.......I agree with you. I do the percentage of my shopping up Polis Road. Cyclband and Pop life are excellent and I always call at well goods on my way home. However any trips into Paphos are on hospital days, so,as to,combine petrol consumption. Have been able to combine numerous trips to the Land Registry with shopping recently. Paps is a definite NO NO for me after nearly 15 years of using them. I also use the Buy right store at Kissonerga and keep a note of prices for comparison.

Well, you learn something new every day! I was told a while ago that they were different businesses. I don't use either of them so it makes no odds to me.

Originally Craig was in partnership with another Scotsman, Robbie, and they opened the original one in Chlorakas then for whatever reason they parted ways and Craig took it all on. A couple or 3 years ago the Chlorakas one moved to a bigger premises almost opposite where it was originally.

I find that shop particularly good price wise for things like bedding, and interior design accessories!

I see this morning that from 4 January, the old 'Fallons' shop in Peyia will now be Hearns books & Cards

May be useful for me if I need a card or book as I only have a car for two of the six weeks I'm out there in the summer.
And I could think of worse establishments it could be...
