As per Tiggy's suggestion on the other thread, I've started this so Uni's can list their availability for a get together at Pambi's.

I won't be able to book or do anything else to contribute I'm afraid from this end but thought I'd get the ball rolling

I don't live in Universal & as I live here I won't be coming over on holiday but doesn't this information already exsist in the 'Movers & Holidayers' thread :? :?

Do we really need another thread telling people the same information, couldn't you just tell me who lives in Universal & I could then add it to the 'Movers & Holidayers' thread, just to save confusing anyone who may want to be added to that thread or am I missing something somewhere :? :? Just a question btw :D :D

Well that's what I'm here for :D to help you, the member out :D :D

I've added '-UNIVERSALIANS' next to the names in the 'Movers & Holidayers' thread, so you'll know when these members are due out & then you can arrange a mini get together while they're here, as long as it doesn't coincide of course with our monthly Taverna Meeting :celebrate

No one would want it to coincide with our Taverna meets of that I am sure :P

I think the idea behind the Universal meet is that so many of us live/own here and we don't know each other. In fact some are very close neighbours but because they all come out at different times they have no idea who is who. It would be good to introduce ourselves to each other.

Its a very good idea, another event where PP member can meet up & get to know one another, the more the better me thinks

So now we have the Taverna Club, the Coffee Meets, The UNIVERSALIANS & G&D for footy :smilielol

I thought that the Forum was supposed to bring people together, everyone welcome to the Taverna Club, all ladies welcome to their Coffee meets etc, but now we are promoting little select groups depending on location - oh well George and I can meet in the Sports bar in Kathikas I suppose

No, Alastair - it's nothing like that at all. It's just that we live within 500 metres of each other, yet don't know each other (well I know Tiggy and Kate now). This is about promoting neighbour - ship, and helping each other out. Let's face it, if Tricia had a problem, she could pm me and I could pop round - yet you would be wary about doing this with total strangers! Hopefully when we've met we won't be strangers any more. If you would like to join us at Pambis you are more than welcome, as would any members, but must warn you it's only small

I really did hope that no-one would feel aggrieved or left out but I would like to reiterate Jean's post. Everyone, is welcome absolutely everyone but we found out that so many of us on PP live within just a few doors from each other and we don't know each other. In villages it is easy to get to know folk but here on the Universal the population is so transient that we don't get that chance. People come and go for holidays, some of us live here, some work so they still don't really know their neighbours. I have been here 6 years now and I could not have told you who lives near me. This is the great power of PP. It is through this forum and it's friendliness that we have become aware of folk living - visiting in the next road/complex and just how great is that.
PP has made the Universal a much smaller and more friendly area so many thanks for that. And, it is great to be able to put names to faces and the ONLY place we can meet on Universe is Pambis, we have nothing else!!

Tiggy

I think this is a great idea and a good way of finding out who your neighbours are and also for mixing socially.
Plenty up here in Chloraka could always start the "Chlorakians"....... any Chlorakians out there?

Don't worry about Alastair, he's just jealous that he can't do the same but I think if he checks the mekmbership list, there are a few PP members from around that area of Kathiskas, Theletra, Inia etc  you'll just need to contact them & arrange something :D :D

Plenty of time for it all

For what it's worth, I think that with people coming and going all the time there will be a different mix of people at every event which will make it all the more interesting and more opportunity to make friends.

I am unfortunately confused, I have a house at Aphrodite Hills, is that considered in the universal area? I get somewhat confused when it comes to Paphos....I know where the bowling alley is and where the harbour is? Apologies for my lack of knowledge!

Well I intend to turn up at any of the Universalians meets,(if I am around) I don't like to miss out on a party. :party

Hi Dave1 you are more Kouklia in the Paphos district, a short drive as you know to Paphos, the Universal area is down from the big Debenhams on the by-pass..... it's a nice residential area on the right.

Jan :)

Hi.

Then there's me. Don't forget me, I live in the Universal and would like to meet some of you. All the years I've lived here I'm down to a couple of friends. No problems really just busy with work and family, they've sort of grown up a bit (not yet left) I would like to start finding some friends.

Do you know, at this rate we're going to take over the place. We're definitely going to have to book in with Peter.

Hi
We are on Universal as well - in Walnut Grove, just next to Pambis. Unfortunately we won't be over till Sept 28th - 13th October- so can you all meet then as well ?
Feeling quite left out :|

Cheers

I don't think there are many about when we are over in August either so perhaps there will be more than one meet

Failing that we will have to have cardboard cut outs made and put in Pambi's so we could be there in spirit :!:

Hi Lisa

It all depends if you are walking or driving - so

1 If driving, go right at Apomero onto Ikarou Street, and turn right at school to traffic lights at church. Go right, onto dual carriageway, straight through traffic lights onto Universal, then immediate left. Straight up that road is Pambis.

2 If on foot, cross over dual carriageway where car hire company is, at traffic lights, and go to right (away from church), and take first left - Pambis is up here. Get stuck and you can call me - I'll pm you my number.
