It is only a bit over a week since the big fire at Theletra.
So this morning standing in the middle of a dry field NOT 5 KM away from Theletra was a Cypriot farmer and he had an open fire going as he burned up his grape cuttings.
Can you believe the irresponsibility from a citizen of this country, someone who has a lot to lose from brush fires. A man who's friends, neighbours and family have lots to lose as well.
Yes I did phone Trumpton and ""Hugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble & Stavros." were round in a couple of minutes. He got the big telling off but there was bound to be some second cousins around - so next week or next year our farmer is free to try his unintentional fire raising again.
