I am unclear as to whether or not I am allowed to irrigate my garden during the current water crisis. I have received a leaflet from the community office stating the times/days when water will be supplied , but nothing about topping up pools , use of hose-pipes or irrigation systems. Has anyone received specific instructions ?

I do believe there are restrictions, best to call your local office to have it clarified. Fines are possible but not everywhere :!:

There has been a hosepipe ban in Cyprus since March last year!

I have not actually hear the irrigation system on in my complex recently
Not sure of the restrictions, but there must be some already in force here on the complex.

Well we've had no information from anyone in our village regarding water cuts of any kind as of yet  but as our landlord has said there hasn't been any cuts in the last 40+years, due to it having its own boreholes, so I'm not sure we'll get any shortages of any kind :|

Saying that tho, if the electric goes off, we lose water anyway

We currently have our irrigation on for 1 minute, 3 days a week at approx 2am in the morning when the ground has cooled down, so not to waste it by evaporation :!:
