I was very keen on Bird-watching in Scotland, and there are so many different varieties of birds in Cyprus I do not recognise. Can anyone recommend a good Book on Cyprus Birds and from which Shop? Thanks!

Hi Ruth great minds think alike, I was only musing today......I need a bird book. I have seen some lovely birds recently.

I have seen a good one not too big in the book shop up in town and I saw it again I think it was in Hearns Coral Bay, I should have bought it at the time but I was buying other books. Will let you know when I see it again.

Jan :)

To get free delivery to Cyprus, make sure you click on the Euro flag, the pricing will then be in Euros and free delivery. Unless it's changed recently, they were charging p&p to Cyprus!

In fact, for delivery to Cyprus, you MUST click on the Euro flag - they will not send anything priced in pounds outside of Britain  :? Why, I do not know! (but I just tried it  )

What a colouful pair in the first picture - and you and your OH look good too Sharon!

You look like you really enjoy your work. We shall have to visit the bird park next time we are over. We'll have to find it first though. :D

Hi Sharon,

Perhaps you can help me to identify a bird that we have around our villa on the coast in Protaras.

I don't have a picture of it, but we hear it mostly in the mornings and evenings, it makes a very loud squawking sound, can't really describe it in words, but it's like this. Eh......Eh.Eh.Eh......Eh.Eh.

Always those six sqawkes, then a gap of about ten seconds then it does it again. over and over.

We think we saw it one morning fairly large, bigger than a crow but thinner. mostly black with some white. Really annoying when it wakes us up at 5am.

Any ideas?

Ruth
