We visited the water park in 2006 and there were lots of children, all ages, who seem to be having good & safe fun!!!! As you won't leave a 4 year old unaccompanied I am sure you will enjoy it.
Word of caution to 'older' members or members 'older children' - I am a strong swimmer but was caught out by a flume - There were long queues especially for the ones with inflatables etc, so we went for a straight forward flume with no wait. We were told to stay sitting for a good ride and not to lay down. OMG, the force of the water threw me from sitting to lying down and I could not sit back up it was so fast. I was fully submersed at least 4 times with no breathing space but I was frightened as my breath ran out and I just managed to get my head out of water to gasp air. To finish off the twists then flung me sideways and I cracked my head on the side just before plunging into the deep pool. I had a cut on my head and was visibly shaken so David rushed to my aid
A lifeguard standing nearby came over and pointed at the changing rooms saying something about first aid then walked away chatting to a couple of teenage girls
I'm not exaggerating this was a horrendous experience and I probably should have complained but I just wanted out.
Upshot is, the rides weren't marked at all to indicate the level of difficulty or suitability. A weak swimmer who's been on less vigorous rides may be taken unawares. They may have them better marked these days, let's hope
Enjoy the park when you go ........ sorry I've rambled a bit but as Tricia noticed, when I'm nervous, I talk (or type) and until I leave here at 1pm to go to the airport it's all I can do to pass the time because I've done all my work! Sorry!
