Morning PP,

We will be over in a few weeks and I was wonderiing if anyone who has been to the waterpark would say that it is worthwhile going with a four year old or is it more geared to the older kids.

Thanks :D

Hi,

I am going to the waterpark today to check it out so I will let you know later, other members with children have probably been so I am sure they will let you know.

Jan :)

Hello :greetings

My kids have been to Paphos waterpark on a couple of occasions and always enjoyed it there but found it a bit limited, however, if you are hiring a car the one at Fazouri (could be spelt wrong) is a lot better in there opinion.

Regards David

We visited the water park in 2006 and there were lots of children, all ages, who seem to be having good & safe fun!!!! As you won't leave a 4 year old unaccompanied I am sure you will enjoy it.

Word of caution to 'older' members or members 'older children' - I am a strong swimmer but was caught out by a flume - There were long queues especially for the ones with inflatables etc, so we went for a straight forward flume with no wait. We were told to stay sitting for a good ride and not to lay down. OMG, the force of the water threw me from sitting to lying down and I could not sit back up it was so fast. I was fully submersed at least 4 times with no breathing space but I was frightened as my breath ran out and I just managed to get my head out of water to gasp air. To finish off the twists then flung me sideways and I cracked my head on the side just before plunging into the deep pool. I had a cut on my head and was visibly shaken so David rushed to my aid

A lifeguard standing nearby came over and pointed at the changing rooms saying something about first aid then walked away chatting to a couple of teenage girls

I'm not exaggerating this was a horrendous experience and I probably should have complained but I just wanted out.
Upshot is, the rides weren't marked at all to indicate the level of difficulty or suitability. A weak swimmer who's been on less vigorous rides may be taken unawares. They may have them better marked these days, let's hope

Enjoy the park when you go ........ sorry I've rambled a bit but as Tricia noticed, when I'm nervous, I talk (or type) and until I leave here at 1pm to go to the airport it's all I can do to pass the time because I've done all my work! Sorry!

The fasouri waterpark is mentioned in our 'Places of Interest' forum, see link viewtopic.php?p=7910#p7910

All water parks cater for all ages, as they have different rides & areas for everyone, so she'll enjoy it no matter what age she is, it water & its fun :celebrate :celebrate

I've been to the Aphrodite waterpark a few times - it's a little bit limited, but a decent enough day out, certainly plenty to keep the kids occupied (well we've always had to drag our nieces/nephews out of there at the end of the day anyway!)

Just to add:
The waterpark opens this week and there is certainly enough to keep a 4yr old happy all afternoon.
It looked well maintained and clean.
If you are going by bus take the No 11 or 15 keep your ticket because you can get a refund at the park.

Cost per adult 28euro.
Cost per child any age 15euro.

Anything else you want to know just ask.

Jan :)

Thank you everyone so much for the responses, we will definately make a day of it now.

Jan, thanks for the info on busses as we are not hiring a car this time - I don't think.
