Remember that tonight is the last night to get a decent view of the Geminid meteor shower. It should be visible after around 9 o'clock.

We were outside at 10:30 last night for about 10 minutes and saw 5 of them shoot across the sky from all different directions. Very quick but very bright streaks across the sky.

Band, with your record of previous brilliant photographs of many events, any chance of some photographs from this evening

Sadly all the good cameras are away for their annual service.

It's also not easy to photograph meteor showers as their occurrence can be infrequent and, if you use a long exposure, you can end up with streaks all across the sky as the stars move. You also need to use a really wide angle lens as they appear from all different parts of the sky.

Also, it's a bit bl**dy cold to stand outside for ages.

Missed last night, not a successful night tonight either, out for about 20 mins and only spotted one very quick little dart of light. Sky was amazing though, so many stars around. Love this time of year here.

Looked up around 11pm last night and saw 8 in the space of 15 minutes, cool!

Ha ha, I was out a bit too early it seems, shame.
