Wanted to share this with you.....
Yesterday at the Ladies coffee meet, I met Terrier Chris for the first time.

Not only does she hail from the same town as me but we went to the same school, knew the same teachers (although we didn't go at the same time). Chris knew my old neighbours and lived on a couple of minutes from me!
You come all the way to Cyprus and meet someone who knows exactly where you come from.
We had a good old natter and It was great to reminise.

Lovely to meet you Chris and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Fab - will you be there in August when we come over. Would be nice to meet up with some PP's.

What's the building opposite looking like? When we left last year it was just being cleared and we haven't been back since as we have had long term winter renters in.

Last year, Matt and I were in the apartment and we saw, over the balcony, Phil and Zoe talking to two females in a car ( ). When they came into the apartment Zoe said that as she and Phil were walking up from the pool this car pulled up and in it was a girl from her school and her mum. Turns out they have a house up the road and they can see our apartment too We had no idea they had a place in Paphos and they didn't know we had either. We had several meals out together and Zoe had a playmate for the hols.

Sarah - I definitely will ne here, cos I live here as do Tiggy and Andrew. Elysia Park is really coming on now - in fact, you will be amazed how quickly it has gone up!. If I get chance over the weekend, I'll nip down and get some photos for you - it's mind blowing.

We really don't know - the signs originally said shops, the original bumf said bank, shops, taverna, bakery, laundry. My next door neighbour was talking to one of the builders, who said nothing but residential. I went into a Pafilia office, and asked the girl there who gave me a fabulous brochure, and assured me all the above were going in, but when I checked the site plan, I couldn't see any of it! I keep meaning to send Pafilia an email asking them, so will do it tonight and let you know. It would be very handy for us if there were going to be some amenities up at this end. There is another new kiosk opening up, almost opposite Centro Universal, underneath the new Makkara offices (opposite the Hadjidemosthenous offices). How long is it since you were last here?

When I last asked Pafilia about the shop types, locations etc, they were evasive and said that they would all be taken in any case so neednt bother.

Sadly, we haven't been back since last August I expect it has changed greatly since then.

We tried to get out over Whitsun but Phil and I weren't able to get the same time off and there would have been a divorce in the offing if either of us went without the other

As long as there aren't going to be any disco's ..........

I have just sent an email to Pafilia - of course, they will be closed now until next Wednesday, and then closed again Thursday , but I will let you know if I ever get a response. Not really holding my breath, as I sent an email to my developer last night telling them what a useless shower they are , and how they never ever reply to me. I know they read my email at 8.30 this morning, but I haven't had a response from them. Surprise, surprise.

Computer working well this morning so I've been able to log on.

Chris and myself were at the flower festival after coffee meet and I met an neighbour from Cheshire where I use to live before, couldn't believe it, what are the chances of that happening, one min either side and we would have missed each other.
Had a lovely afternoon with the golden girls, it was nice to meet Jean,Tiggy, Amanda and her Mum for the first time and of course baby James.

That description of 5 minutes you have given really really annoys me ( but not you, I mean the generic). The amount of times I see properties further into the Universal and even up the hill a bit described as 5 minutes walk to the harbour and nearest beach gets me riled. We describe ours as either a short walk or 15-20 mins depending how straight a line you walk.

Some of the apartment owners who misdescribe their properties is embarassing and must leave customes feeling a bit let down.

Rant over.

But I'll be watching out for you from now on Jean. Just give us a honk on the horn and pop in.

(but wait until were there as the holidaymakers may not enjoy it.)

I found this out just before Chris left for Paphos:

Chris lives about a mile and a half from me here in UK, and just down the road from where my maternal grandparents house used to be, and opposite the church where my parents got married!

Small world indeed!

Hope you're having a good time Chris - you can tell me all about the weather if you like - we only had a day and a half of sunshine this week!

Yes I have a SAD light, it's an LED type, and I use it from September until clocks go forward, usually, but this week I've got it out again because of no sunshine!

I do think it works because I am more motivated and cheerful during the winter.

Good to here i am starting light treatment next week 3 times a week for 10 weeks.
for a skin thing (that started in jan) been on steroids and antihystemines bit better but I'll try this so i can cut down on tablets.(i asked for 10 weeks in Cyprus, but no) So i was hoping it would help cheer me up as well as this rash has been a pain.So i might be burt to a crisp but happy

You need to move over Tricia, the sunshine would clear it up.

I had a friend with severe psoriasis (sp?) who used a sun bed for years to keep it under control, along with different lotions and potions, and she was always happy!

Sunshine has more positives than negatives I feel, provided you use sun screen etc. Better for you than anti-depressants. It just puts a different perspective on things.

Is there a way that the mods or the powers that be can put a live googleearth on here to allow a couple of things, firstly to let people put their properties on, and secondly for information showing say the leccy board, paps, police Luxury headquarters, etc etc and locations for meets etc.

My Brian has raised a point about the safety/security aspect of putting property locations on Google Earth on an open forum. Bearing in mind that some properties are likely to be vacant.

Your thoughts on this please, not trying to spoil anyone's fun, but you don't know who could be lurking and what their motives might be.

Well, I've had a reply from Pafilia about the shops etc on Elysia Park - yes, it surprised me as well Please see below

I would like to confirm that the following amenities will be available once the development has been completed:bakery, pharmacy,mini market , salon, Pafilia Info Office, Restaurant ,Bar, Bank Branch. If you have any other questions relating to Elysia Park , please do not hesitate to call or email me . Take care.

So. give it a couple of years, and we can have a meet up at the taverna there - sounds good to me!
