I'd think you'd also have to define an "average" weekly shopping bill in a bit more detail!

Moved this into the main Day 2 Day forum as it'll be interesting to get a wide range of views.

For our part, we spend around 50 Euros a week on our weekly food shopping for the 2 of us, but we don't buy any expensive imported stuff, eat fresh every day and are relentless in the search for bargains!

I'm similar in habit to the Captain. On my own I spend an average of €23 per week, plus bread and milk that I buy as I go. However, I am a veggie, which makes a difference.

Then again, there's us who spend anything between €90 and €150 a week, but that covers all food, household stuff (washing powder etc) and animal food (which is expensive - but then again we have 9 very fussy cats and 2 even fussier dogs)

When we return to Cyprus after the summer we do a big shop, on average we'll spend upto 200euro, but thats including beers etc after that we usually spend 40-50 euro a week.

We spend around €150 per week includes cleaning products, and some wine. Dog food etc. Far too darn much.
We don't usually do it all in one supermarket either, picking up bits all over the place including the Euro shop.

This I find is a total fag and waste of time, money and petrol but you never seem to be able to get all you want in one shop!

hi

thanks for that

not bad at all

yes we will ned the initial BIG shop.......shampoo.....cleaning stuffs etc etc etc

but then even here we eat fresh produce usually bought daily

lots of fresh salads..and cheeses and hams

bread

small amount of meat .....yoghurts etc etc

we don't buy ready cooked meals

and will not be bothered in searching for english food stuffs that have been imported....as we use a very limited amount of tins etc etc

and of course a few bottles of wine etc etc

only biggy for edd will be coffee

niether of us smoke and we don't have any pets

so we should be A-ok by the sounds of things

even enough for a weekly meal out if we are lucky :celeb2

cheers very helpful info

and very much so appreciated

maggie
