Pam - like you I am also on hubby number 3 and it's definately 3rd time lucky. Just wish I'd met him years ago thern I wouldn't have wasted my time on the other 2  I have been with Dave for 7 years and we married at Geroskipou town hall in June 2006. We met via an internet dating agency and for all those who think that's weird = don't knock it unless you've tried it

But is it not what forums are about learning etc and you never know it could be first forum where someone meets each other on.If so we might all get an invite to a PP wedding.

Folks,
Two of the most momentus nights of my life happened in November 73. I was 16 and on my birthday went to see The Who live for the first time ! WOW
The next night, met Mrs DP at the youth club. We courted on and off for 7 years and we've been married this April 27years.
And they said it wouldn't last.

Hi all,

Well I divorced my first hubby after 6 years and one child together, then met Mike who I have been with ever since!
We got engaged at Aphroditis Rock on the 26th of this month in 1993, and celebrate 'living together' (never bothered getting married ..lol) on the 1st June, and we will have been living together for 23 years then!
Mike used to remember the aniversary only as it was my old dog's birthday on that day, now that my old lad is no longer here, he puts it in his watch to remind him...old age I think...lol
In between all this we had a daughter together, who is now 12 years old.
Lovely to see some long marriage's on here!

Wendy.

Hi there

I am also a newbie but couldn't resist this one. Ken and I have been married 12 years this Sunday, together 15 years but we have both been married twice before. I keep telling him he has lasted longer than the others! As other have said it is definitely 3rd time lucky but don't tell him that. As some of you will know from other forum posts we have been going through a bad patch as Ken has been undergoing chemotherapy but it now looks as if he might be able to have an operation to hopefully "cure" him. So we are keeping our fingers and everything else crossed.

Going through some old posts and thought I'd add to this one:

Phil and I have been married 19 years this year (September) but I've known him since I was 18 - we met when he was in the Army and based in St Johns Wood and I was working in London. When he left the Army and joined the police in Worcestershire I left London and moved up too. I can't believe the time has gone so quickly ........ here's to the next 20 (I think!)

What an interesting post Molly. Rosemary and I have been married for 21 years, although we first met when she was a student teacher at the school I was teaching in,back in 1976. We got married at Easter, 1987, at Crumpsall Methodist Church, with the reception at Heaton Park. What has married life been like? Traumatic, yes and a struggle. Out of the thirty or so relatives at our wedding, only two are left. Rosemary's dad died two years after our wedding and we looked after and cared for Rosemary's mum for 19 years. She was a teacher: still playing rounders and running for herself at 65, but two years after retiring, was in a wheelchair. However, she was a fantastic addition to our family, and has helped shaped Rachel, our daughter, into the person she is today. We could write a book about caring, and our battles with Social Services and how we ended up kicking them into touch and loking after Rosemary's mum ourselves and employing a private carer for when we were at work or on holiday.
We have spent most of our time working in the same school. When we semi-retire, at the end of the school year, we should have no problem in getting on with eachother. We will be able to get our life back, and do the things we used to do before our jobs became stressful.

Emma and I have been together since we were both studying A-Level Law together. So we met at 17 and have been together 12 years now. Kind of bucks the 'the yoooof of today can't build a solid relationship' trend.

We will hopefully get married out here at some point. But if aint broke dont try to fix it.

Missed this post first time round.

Initially married in 1965 and had 3 children, but hubby 1 left when they were all under 3.5 yrs. became a career woman to support the family and after 12 years of "no intention of ever getting married again" met malcolm whom I had known in a past life and whose wife had died - bit of a Mills and Boon really.

Been married to him for 20 years ans still going strong. Been a wonderful supportive step father.

I hope we can manage another 20years - who knows.
:heart :heart :heart

hi
stevie and i have been together 9 years and married for seven on 29th of june this year. :heart
second attempt at a relationship for us both...we both had a daughter each when we met and have since had our son..... we refer to them as the 'his hers and ours' children when trying to explain our set up..... but really they are all ours and i think we have done well blending two families into one!

we are celebrating our anniversary this year in cyprus so can't wait!
heres to many more years of love life and happiness!

Hi all.

For me too bloody long! Just waiting for the kids to grow up and see what will happen.
Maybe I expect too much as my mam and dad were always together. I'm more of a piece of furniture to him not a companion......why didn't he marry a Cypriot, maybe they grow up to accept this type of life ? If I didn't have my work I would have been long gone like many others I have met along the way.
To be honest I've never met any girl here married to a Cypriot who has anything good to say about their relationship.
Never mind maybe the next generation!

Jill.

Been married 43 years. It was an arranged marriage, I was working overseas at the time and my wife had to do all the arranging. Also, it's a mixed marriage, she is from Scotland I from England. Our children are of course half-caste, poor things.

What kept us together for all this time? You try being a Englishman with a Glaswegian mother-in-law. A wee scunner she used to call me.

We will have been married 42 years on the 7 May. We had our 1st date in December 1963 I was 16 and bassman was 20(those were the days!)
We met when the band ( they were called groups in those days, and yes I have been asked if I was a groupie! many times.)played at our village hop.
When we were 1st married John was in the forces and our 1st home was in Limassol, we lived in the town amongst the cypriots and we were able to cross to the north without a problem. How things have changed since then, not just in Cyprus but the world over.
Next week when we come back to live we will have completed the circle
