I run my own mail server so a little different to most setups but has anyone had any problems sending email to cytanet.com.cy.

i haven't been successfull delivering email to this domain alone since 15th January.

I can deliver and receive from all other domains and receive from Cytanet.

During mail delivery the MX records appear to be resolved correctly but upon connection attempt there is a timeout once the connection is established?

P=100 S=000 D=cytanet.com.cy TTL=(1090) MX=[promitheas6.cytanet.com.cy] {195.14.130.162}

P=100 S=002 D=cytanet.com.cy TTL=(1090) MX=[promitheas1.cytanet.com.cy] {195.14.130.164}

P=100 S=003 D=cytanet.com.cy TTL=(1090) MX=[promitheas2.cytanet.com.cy] {195.14.130.160}

P=100 S=004 D=cytanet.com.cy TTL=(1090) MX=[promitheas3.cytanet.com.cy] {195.14.130.159}

P=100 S=005 D=cytanet.com.cy TTL=(1090) MX=[promitheas4.cytanet.com.cy] {195.14.130.165}

P=100 S=006 D=cytanet.com.cy TTL=(1090) MX=[promitheas5.cytanet.com.cy] {195.14.130.161}

P=150 S=001 D=cytanet.com.cy TTL=(1090) MX=[mail-relay.cytanet.com.cy] {195.14.130.181}

Any thoughts/ideas/fellow sufferers ?

I can telnet from my mailserver into all the above by IP or cname !?>

Funny this, it happens to coincide with the system upgrade by Cyta on the 15th.

Probably a cytanet problem. I will check my mailserver logs to see if it has had any problems as well.

Hi,

Just checked log file, no reported timeout or retrys to cytanet.com.cy. However, my link is direct to the cytanet servers, perhaps you use a different isp?

yeah im connected via ichoice to Netway - thanks for checking - you must be LAN rather than WAN !?

Well it was all working fine until 15th so perhaps that upgrade has had some sort of effect.

Will have to ask Netway !

Looking at the logs more closely, 88 seconds after the mail transfer is completed i get a"Socket connection closed by the other side (how rude!)" message from my email server ... maybe me or they have timed out waiting for the other ?

we are on frame relay, essentially a LAN connection to Nicosia via Cytacom. However, I have noticed some slow-down of non http ports recently (voip time-outs, and socket based speed tests being slower). Your error message looks as if the cytanet server did not receive the "end of message" request, therefore timed-out.

Maybee the problem will cure itself as cyta to not have any problems :lol:
