Post subject:  broadband for holiday apartment.

Hello peeps.
I have heard of different providers for internet access for when you are here on holiday instead of paying for a phone line and broadband payable annually.
Can anyone head me in the right direction and suggest any reliable solution?

Thanks in advance.

We use Holitec http://www.holitecbroadband.com/

They didn't fall into the category of 'reliable solutions' but seem much better now .... and we've been with them for about 10 years now.

My neighbour had someone coming on Tuesday (in association with Andy's Telecom) to provide a similar solution (with a UK TV Box as well) - will report back ...

Thank you JB, that is the one I was thinking of but could not remember the name.
I would also be interested in what your Neighbour thinks regarding Andy's provision and service offered.
I intend to spend a few months a year in Cyprus now so will need something better than visiting wifi cafes etc.

Our internet died on Monday morning - tried to call both Holitec numbers - both permanently engaged.
It came back on later in the morning.

Guy next door now has fusionit.eu installed - a quick glance indicates that the cost of a 4Meg connection is considerably cheaper than Holitec ... if I'm reading it right.

the reason it died was because the EAC cable supplying the whole block of shops had a dead short between 2 phases. I have been running on generator all Monday and Tuesday while EAC dug up the old cable and replaced it. All businesses were effected there, but we were back on within the hour.

This was a bit beyond my control, and yes the phones would be engaged - with almost a thousand customers all calling at the same time as half the system was off.

BTW 4MB is standard at 25.50 and if you are permanent (not switch on/off) it is now 6 for 25.50
