Post subject:  Air printer problem

We have a HP desk jet 3525 printer that is air printer compatible. Set it up last year no problems fine from both of our IPads.
Then our modem died a few months ago, we are now having a problem printing. Have tried resetting the printer with the new modem settings but still have a problem.
The initial setting up of the printer last year was fine, cannot understand why this is so difficult to do.
Any ideas anybody. Getting very annoyed. :rain

I'm no expert, but it sounds like there is a problem with the acceptance of the new modem WEP code, either by the printer or the Ipads. You will need to make sure that both Ipads and printer have accepted the new WEP code. You will probably then have to ask the Ipads to find the printer.
If all else fails, give Brian a ring at Computer SOS. He, or one of his team, will no doubt know the answer.

The I pads are fine, it's just the printer. Was so easy to set up with the original modem. Will research on web, we cannot be the only ones who have this problem. Thanks

You might find the new modems encryption (security) is too high for the printer but as you say working fine for ipad. You should be able to log into your modem (settings are normaly located under the box) and change the security. I would expet its set to WPA2 when most older devices will only work with WPA or less.

Thanks Neil will look into that. The previous modem from CYTa was quite old.
I have Been trying again to set up the printer again, even looked on other forums to no avail, (it seems to be a common problem with air printers).
Nothing they say seems to work so far.
