Since I opted for windows 10 I have been relatively trouble free and I would say on the whole, my laptop performance has been slightly improved after upgrading from Windows 7. However, today, I transferred some photos from my Iphone to a file on my laptop (not via back-up or itunes as I dont want them synced) but the photos wont open unless I right click and select "open with".... anyone any ideas why or have a fix ? |

Ever since windows 95 files will open with a click on the document and start the associated program. Win 3.1 you had to start the program first as I remember. In windows 7 all you needed to do was type "file association" in the start menu search box and a list of file types and their default programs are displayed. So for example if you have a .bmp file the default program is paint. If you want another program like windows photo viewer to open that type of file by default, you change the application associated with .bmp files to photo viewer. I don't have Win 10 but it must have similar or it would be unusable. |
