With the strength of the Euro currently it is a great bargain to visit Russia. Transaero has some fabulous prices now direct from Paphos http://transaero.ru/en

Well worth a visit, most items are half the price they were before the currency changes and a little snow in Moscow to warm your cockles up for a hot summer could be whats asked for.

Just booked EasyJet Gatwick to Moscow 10-21 June at £113 return per person including 20kg suitcase per person.

Incredible price.

Got round to submitting my Russian tourist visa application today ... total cost £201!

Since December 2014, UK applicants have to be finger printed (in London or Edinburgh) so have to attend in person, no postal applications anymore, but passports with visa can be posted back by registered post. Also processing of visa applications has been "outsourced", so in addition to visa fee, there is a "service charge"

5 1/2 hours out of my life today travelling to London and back ...

car park, train, tube ... £58
double entry tourist voucher ... £30 (single entry would have been £20)
double entry tourist visa ... £65 (single entry would have been £50)
service charge ... £38
return postage of passport ... £10

total £201

I'm thinking it would have been cheaper to fly to Cyprus and apply for a visa from there!

Any idea of the costs involved in applying for a Russian visa if you are resident in Cyprus holding a UK passport?
