The Blue-Ray vs HD-DVD has raged for a couple of years but last week one of the key firms involved with the HD-DVD technology pulled out, effectively ending the life of this great technology.

So if you are thinking about buying a new DVD player and see great deals on "HD-DVD" make sure you understand that the supply of software (ie movies !!) will dry up in the coming year as no-one will be releasing anything !

Think VHS vs BETAMAX ... HD-DVD is the new BETAMAX
