Are you saying you couldn't change your password or it wouldn't let you or you changed it and it didn't make any difference?

Might be worth checking here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316659

Neil - it could indeed be the browser she is using, as Amanda says. Something as simple as downloading Chrome or Firefox could be the answer :greetings

It is nice to know that I am not alone with the Hotmail problem but doesn't help I'm afraid. I can't download anything as I use my account at work and don't think the boss would approve (even if I knew how to do it - all Greek to me! - sorry couldn't resist). Maybe it is something to do with work as just had new computer guy here recently, so will access Hotmail somewhere else and hope that it works properly then.
Thanks for any help.
Regards Cathy

Hi Cathy,

Your problem is almost certainly a browser security issue, can you tell me which browser you are using and which version of the browser, which operating system, XP, Vista or Windows 7.

Unfortunately this is one of those problems which could probably be solved in five minutes of seeing your computer but a little harder to solve remotely, but I'm sure it can be solved.

As a matter of interest though, if you are running Internet Explorer you would find that if you downloaded Firefox your computer would run faster and certainly be more secure. You can also transfer over your favourites/ bookmarks folder so that you don't lose any of the sites you like to browse. If you do go for Firefox you can keep Internet Explorer too !

Hi Road Warrior,
Thanks for your post. All I know is that I have XP and browser is Internet Explorer. I don't know anything else - sorry did say I was PC illiterate!! I just want to switch the thing on and it work perfectly and quickly every time!
i daren't download anything to my PC at work or the boss will not be pleased!
Thanks anyway.
Cathy

Hi Cathy,

I'm guessing as it's a works computer that the security settings on the browser, internet explorer, have been changed, this would limit what you could download attachment wise, as it is a works computer as you say, you can't download another browser or change any of the settings.
If you access your account from a friends PC or from an internet cafe, you may find I think that your account is fine, sorry I could not be of more help but, if you have access to another PC and are still having a problem, I'll help if I can.

:D
