Hi all,
I need a little advice on what cable to buy for my laptop with my hard earned pension, now I'm no expert but apparently on my new laptop there is a VGA port
and there is also one on my telly, on the telly as well is a HDMI port.
So, which cable should I get to receive a good reception when I want to watch internet t.v.? a cable for VGA (from computer) to VGA (on the telly) or a cable for VGA (from computer) to HDMI (on the telly) or something else entirely.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Hi Nanta
You need a vga cable (just a normal monitor cable) to connect the pc/laptop to the tv , the pictures go from the laptop to the tv, for sound you will need a 3.5mm jack on each end of a cable for sound from laptop to tv ok?
The reception is via the internet so it depends on your internet speed ok?
Mike

Hi we have just returned to Cyprus after a two year break and have been trying to connect our laptop to the TV. I was told to get a DVI TO VGA cable which I did but all i get on the TV is a blue screen. I then tried a DVI to HDMI cable with the same result. Not being up on the latest technology is there something else I should be doing ?

Can anyone help please.

Tom

I have been trying to do this with my PC
and still had no luck ,I even bought a convertor box
from ebay , I gave up in the end .. :doh

Doing from a PC is a diffirent proceedure than from a laptop .

I don't think so.

You need the correct cable to match between the computer and TV. You need to tell the operating system on the computer to output to that cable. You need to set the TV to output the picture from the input cable. Some of these functions may be automatic depending on the hardware, operating system and TV.
