Has anyone subscribed/used the 'easyvision' system for viewing UK TV channels through the internet using its own digi box? Apparently also provides playback.

I've not heard of this and a google search refers me to opticians. Have you any other details?

Pete

Sorry Pete, google this - Easy Vision - IPTV. There is a company offering this internet TV service and I wondered if anyone had tried it out yet.

If it's the "Ship Shape" one I would be careful.
Word is that they are likely to have bandwidth problems in the future.

I still don't find anything which leads me to some kind of 'Easy Vision' box. Personally I have a cheap HTPC connected to my TV and pay a small monthly fee both for a UK IP and a US IP. Thanks to this mix I get the iPlayer and other UK TV channels which broadcast online such as 4OD but more even I get also all American TV channels (in HD quality). This costs me less than any kind of local TV package with a minor non-Cypriot channel upgrade and I do not have to wait for Murdoch or any studio to sell the rights internationally.

I watch TV series the same day as they air in the US, not 3 months later when they air in the UK. My small HTPC was not more expensive than any kind of satellite + Dreambox and I even have a wireless keyboard connected to it. F1 on BBC for the win and True Blood and Co., days, often months before they air in the UK. :)
