Post subject:  Moving to Paphos

We are in the process of buying a property in Kato Paphos.
Can anyone recommend an online site that sells furnituure etc that we can arrange for delivery before we arrive.
We have friends that can accept delivery.
Or can you recommend buying with same day delivery?
Are there any second hand furniture shops that deliver that are available to look at online?
Is there such a site as e bay that i can look at?
How long does it take to set up WIFI in a property?
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

I don't know if they are still in business but we bought the majority of our furniture from "Steptoes" who had an on line site.
There is a very good facebook page named "Buy and sell anything in Paphos "that have some great bargains.
As you have someone who will take delivery of furniture for you then you may be able to do a deal with someone leaving the island and selling up.
Sometimes on here people do advertise so keep your eyes open for that.
Wifi is very good through Cytanet, pretty reliable and if you are not in permanent residence then I believe they have a switch on and off service.
There are other suppliers who also do TV and internet as you need packages so someone on here may mention a few as we left Cyprus a while ago and there are no doubt new providers available.

You don't say whether you are coming to live, or just for holidaying, but maybe you'd be better booking into a hotel for a few nights so you can select the items you need 'in the flesh' rather than on a few random pictures??
That way, at least you will be able to get a decent nights sleep rather than living in a 'building site' type of environment.

For 2nd hand furniture, we have always used Barry at 'The Furniture Cave' 99990892

It is always worth a trip to IKEA. Their cheaper ranges are still good quality and can compare very well with the prices in second hand shops.

Hi susanne,
If as you say you are buying a property here in Cyprus, you could do worse than check things out for yourselves, preferably BEFORE you sign on the dotted line!

Hoping for the best is definitely not a good idea here, as you will have little redress if things do not work out in your favour. Do your research, then decide on your purchase.
