Hardly Bobby Robson commitment you are showing there Geoff - more like Keegan, jacking it in when you have had enough!

When you log in on the left handside there is a transfers option.

You get one free tfr a week, all others deduct 4 points from your total each.

He was only due to miss the 1 game, so figured I could manage without him for a week rather than take the 4 point hit - had enough fit subs to put out a 4-4-2 instead...

Having reviewed half the games so far i can see that i really need to keep an eye on what is going on .... i have now made some transfers this and last week !

week 10 - 2 of 11 not playing and 66 points
week 11 - 2 of 11 not playing and 57 points
week 12 - 2 of 11 not playing and 40 points
week 13 - 4 of 11 not playing and 33 points
week 14 - 2 of 11 not playing and 36 points
week 14 - 2 of 11 not playing and 36 points
week 15 - 0 of 11 not playing and 19 points
week 16 - 0 of 11 not playing and 38 points
week 17 - 2 of 11 not playing and 37 points

179 point behind the leaders .... its just a scratch !

Well done Richard and his Inglorious Basterds. It came down to the last game of the weeks as well. Looking forward to next season. Really starting to get the hang of it towards the end. I was catching up with some of you guys as well. Happy with 5th and an extra week I may had 4th (or forgetting to change my team last week and losing out of 11 pts :banghead)

I gave up on it a bit once I realised I wasn't going to win, but am reasonably happy with third - is that enough to get me in the Champions League automatically?

Started one if anyone wants to join

837404-295897

As it's last minute and if we get a few join after the first week games. I'll move the score to start next week, if everyone is happy with that.

Hi Ali

This would be MY FANTASY football team

I presume, unfortunately, this is not what you are talking about.
Don’t really know much about football (wrong shaped ball for me) but willing to have a go if you still need members.

Current players don't forget to set you're team up and captain for this weeks fixture.

Anybody new can still join, but the long you leave it the more points you have to catch up

Did not go plan for me. At least I had Harper in goal. I've got a player still to player. I assume a few people with do with it being Liverpool and Man City, tonight, so don't get to full of yourself CF.

Don't forget people :-).

PS CF is NOT in lead, he's join second with me. BigDutch is still in the lead, which is confusing the hell out of me.

Hiya Franky

If you want to join our league you're more that welcome.

Bigdutch (Geoff) did rubbish last year, hence why we are bit confused how he's doing so well, so far.

Off to watch Wolves V Newcastle in about hour.

Look at those surprises this weekend.

Sunderland for once making the difference in the last minutes and winning instead of losing valuable points.
Newcastle who should be strong enough to stay in the Prem losing two valuable points in a game they should have won to stay up.
Wigan creating an upset away from home.
Bolton's come back to save a point after the normally so calm Jaskelaainen went insane and Bolton went two goals behind.

No surprise it is to see that the Council House still a small club is and loses away at the Stadium of Lights. Sunderland might not have all those millions in the bank or any Royals in the box but at least they do have their own stadium and don't have to rent it from the Council.

Agreed. Although when I still wrote on football blogs (both a personal Mancs blog and a neutral football site, listed in the sidebar on BBC football blogs), I was rather popular because of my players analyses, this game I never got a hang out. Once mid-September when hell breaks out at work, I usually end up with 8 injured players as well. :D

Captain Fantastic wrote:

Double correction: 35 years at the other side of Manchester and 41 years at the North of England. Who's hunting for glory?

Vidic did not have to tackle Andy Carrol once and that guy is pushed for England already? ;)

Smart bottom (silly rude word checker). I'm only 3pts behind so be worried

woooooo calling Franky a gloryhunter, probably is. I have no justification for this without having met you or anything, but Newcastle supporters have to stick together on the matter. Why not support Man City or any number of other teams close by? While I'm here, Manchester UNITED - that's a bit of a false claim, Manchester isn't very united when it comes to football. Silly people can't even get the name right :doh

You mean supporting the richest club in the world but without own stadium? The Council House? Yeah, right. I would even rater become a fan of the French Professor, even though he's French, than support the 'richest club in the world'.

Funny though to see fans of a Top 20 Richest club world wide hit out at other's richesses. :doh :smilielol

Unrelated.

Image

Call me glory hunter and while I can sympathise with fans that die-hard for their love to support losers, sympathy only goes that far. Just give me a nice and attractive game, I'ld rather lose 4-5 than win 1-0 or draw 0-0.

It's the Busby spirit: we want to be entertained after a week of hard work. To me it doesn't matter if it's The arm-pit, Newcastle, Blackpool (!) or Barca as long as I saw an attractive game. I'm also a big admirer of Johan Cruyff's attitude: it doesn't matter if we concede 4 goals as long as we score 5.

I'm sorry, but I have a strict policy of not discussing football matters with gloryhunters.

I'll concentrate instead on demonstrating my natural supremacy on the Fantasy Football front (it's the main reason none of the mackems take part - they know I'll just embarrass them)

Talking about it all going pear shaped for me. Two Man U core players on my team neither even played.

Also it's not finished yet, still got Stoke V Villa this evening and then the sub to go in etc.
However, it's not going to make much different to our top of the league, which I've seem to have currently forgot who it actually is. Silly forgetful me.

Another decent week - happy with the Chelsea lads in particular! Little disappointed that I had a couple of decent performers on the bench though - never an automatic sub around when you need one!

Had a decent week and I was particularly excited when berba got a hatrick as i knew you didn't have him :D But your back 5 really came good this week ... a few clean sheets there. Despite my front 6 getting a load in i was gutted to let you increase your lead by another point this week. :smilielol

  This year i enabled the weekly reminder so at least i have one reminder to go and change the team ... brought burba in this week or last for defoe ... good sub ! Last year i frequently fielded less than 11 players so hopefully just getting 11 on the pitch will get me up the PP table this year.

It's really not working for me. Keep getting injuries and no performance. The wild card is getting temping already.

I already used a Wild Card after my disastrous first week, but it turns out you get 2 of them this year, so I still have one to spare.

Just reading up on the wild cards.

"You can play 2 transfer wildcards a season. One wildcard can be played at anytime, the other can only be used between Gameweeks 23 and 27. This extra wildcard will be available after the start of Gameweek 22 (4 Jan 19:30) up to the Gameweek 27 deadline (12 Feb 11:30). All transfers made in the Gameweek your wildcard is played will be without points deduction. You play your wild card when confirming transfers."

It looks like they've done a second wild card to be nice to people who may have lots of players transferred out of the premiership during the Jan transfer window.

I'll see what my team looks like after the Carling cup games - I could have even more injuries after that.

Shockingly I haven't got loads of injuries after the internationals. Normally I'm force into making transfers due to those injuries, now I've got a choice, I'm not sure what to do!

I've got a stack of injuries this week - relying on some of my fringe players coming in and doing a job...
