The Cyprus rugby team have won promotion in each of the last two years the European Nations Cup Division 2 and have equalled the world record of 18 consecutive international matches. They will set a new record of 19 wins (topping the All Blacks) on Sat against Hungary. The team and their supporters really want to participate in the World Cup Qualifying rounds. We have both signed, and it is a crying shame that it has come to this as the guys have worked so hard for their achievements, and to be knocked back like this is an utter disgrace.  BTW...does anyone know where the match on Saturday will be held? If it is local then we would like to go and show our support. Sheila |

Unfortunately the bodies governing Rugby Union at ALL levels always move the goalposts or rugby posts in this case whenever the feel they need to, they've been doing this for years. A good example was my old village club in Wales finished top of their league, so should have been promoted right, wrong? we were told that our ground and facilities didn't meet their spec, other clubs with less facilities were in the league, were given an impossible time scale to improve facilities. We met the deadline at the cost of thousands which we had to raise only to find that the W.R.U. had moved the deadline date for completion closer without telling anyone! so we had missed it, court case, I hear you ask, we were warned that we wouldn't win and would cost us a fortune. Unfortunately it's not just down to results on the park, you have to beat the suits as well. they are like the Mafia, but it's still the best game in the world.
