Could definitely put a decent team together out of that lot! They'll mostly be demanding daft wages though....

looks like we'll be studying this list a lot more closely after Mr Ashley's latest pronouncement!

What was I saying about being unable to string 2 competent decisions together??

I notice you haven't expanded on Fat Cashley's latest pronouncement.
Unlike most of my Mackem chums who think the latest pronouncement is rather funny, I think it makes sense.
Cashley is subsidising the club at a level even he can not continue with. The 5 year plan makes sense and sounds vaguely familiar..................
To be honest, I think the Mugs will stay up with their present squad.
You are still paying for being a cash cow to Hall and Shepherd.

It's difficult to comment, as like most of his pronouncements is asks more questions than it answers. I'm hoping he mans that we'll still spend money the club generates itself from TV money, ticket sales etc, but he won't be putting any more of his own in, which is fair enough really, but if he's actually saying there'll be zero spend on players then he's just an idiot.

I think the fact that it keeps stating there will be no comment from the board on this and there will be no comment from the board on that is rather suspicious.
Maybe he is putting up the shield now, knowing that he is gonna face flak from the fans as the season progresses. One thing for sure is The Mugs need a good start cos if they struggle and the content of this statement is true, there will be hell on.
Having said that, I re iterate that I think they will stay up, it's how the fans react to being around the relegation zone that will be interesting. For some strange reason the way it reads to me suggests that he wants his money back in the next 5 years.

It just makes no sense on so many different levels - how many people won't be renewing their season tickets now because of this??

I's almost like they're being deliberately provocative sometimes....

And now he says he doesn't want his money back............ so why this statement and why no capital outlay ?

They've now issued a further statement (despite the earlier statement clearly stating there would be no further staements! :doh ) which seems to back up my theory above, which is something of a relief....

When you've quite finished, any word on transfer activity from your lot, or are you delighted with the 13th place finish and happy to consolidate?

At the start of the season I thought we could get 9th. Looking at the league table we should have got 10th. I don't think it was a successful season and I am still not sure about Bruce. He needs to sort out the problem we have of being unable to win away and on the evidence of this season, he doesn't know how to.
I know it's his first season but if he goes on next season like he has this one he will be under pressure.
He has said we won't be signing many at all going for quality rather than quantity.
He has signed Cristian Riveros, a Paraguyan attacking midfield International, I believe for free.
He must sign Alan Hutton and I think Spurs will want 6 or 7 million for him.
I think we need a good centre back as Mensah is too injury prone and we also need a right winger and a left back is a priority.
Lot of rumours about Jones going so we'll need a good striker if that happens and could do with a fourth striker anyway.
As things stand now we should be aiming for 9th next season.
I know it's like saying if my granny had balls but if it wasn't for that awful run in winter we would have this time.
