If you fill in your location on your profile it will help members make recommendations...there are a couple of good places in Nicosia and Larnaca if that helps

Super little grill house opposite the Time Out kiosk if coming into town from Chlorakas past where City Wok was, very clean, lovely staff and delicious freshly made food! They also do takeaways.

Taverna opposite the IBU Bank of Cyprus which is open during daytime hours is normally very good.

Most of the non touristy places away from the harbour have good local food. Theres one on the road from Mouttalos to Chlorakas no far from Marias Kiosk which is very good and popular with locals also, someone will come along with the name soon.

Out of town the Fountains of Yeronosis is always popular at Tsada. But the best souvla of all is.......

To make your own, its incredibly easy and exceptionally enjoyable.

Do you mean souvla or souvlaki?
Souvla is the big chunks as served at the Last Castle/Viklari.
Souvlaki is the small chunks of meat, often served with salad inside a pitta. We had a good one at the small takeaway in Agapinoros/Russian/Mr Chicken Road opposite the Garden of Eden parking area, and Andreas at the Olive Tree in Polemi serves really good pitta souvlaki - in one of the large bready pittas so you need a good appetite.

And Tanny means the Fountain of Yerolakas in Tsada ...
