Molly - for Mothers Day I went to the Devonshire and I really enjoyed it.

I only eat a roast when someone else cooks it... all those pans yuk

I like the Sunday Lunch at the Seahorse - he does a lovely lamb shank, where the meat just falls off the bone when you show it the knife :D It's not worth me cooking a Sunday Lunch for one - as Piglet says, all those pans  , and it's a place I can go in on my own and not feel out of place or "strange".

Thanks Molly - and the Devonshire is (coming from Peyia) take a left after Chloes2 and Oliveto, and it's on the left. It's about three years since I was last there, but I remember it being very good.

Alastair and I both thoroughly enjoyed our free Sunday Lunch - but we didn't opt for a 'bit of each' as when I saw the Yorkshire Puddings with the Roast Beef, I went for that - Alastair had the Lamb! Then I discovered that everyone got got a Yorkshire Pudding no matter what meat they had. It was all delicious - as was the Brandy Sour, too!!!!

I can recommend "The Lagoon", in Limnaria, Kato Paphos (opposite Alexander The Great Hotel).

Kelvin, the chef and manager, cooks the best Sunday lunch I have ever tasted. :congrats

All the food is prepared and cooked freshly on the premises.

Good portions and home made deserts (his apple crumble is to die for).

Just got back from the Vatouthkia restaurant ( think I've spelt it wrong!) - on the rough road from Kamares or Tala on the way to Adonis Falls. Sunday is a bufet meal and it was excellent! The starters/ salads were too numerous to mention, then traditional beef or pork carvery with lots of veg etc and a vast choice of desserts plus coffee or brandy. There were 4 of us and we had two cokes, two brandy sours and 4 large Keos plus the food and the bill was 72 Euros which we thought reasonable. : :clapping

We went to the Vatouthkia restaurant yesterday for Sunday lunch. Thought it was excellent and very good value for money. Cost was approx 14 Euros each for a three course buffet lunch.
As said in the previous post, a large selection of cold starters ie: various salads, coleslaw, beetroot etc etc. Main course was a traditional British Sunday lunch with all the trimmings (pork and beef on the menu yesterday.) Finishing with at least six assorted desserts. Could go round as often as you liked and also have as much/little as you liked.
Meal ended with complimentary coffees and brandys.
By all accounts they are open every lunchtime, except on a Wednesday and from what we could gather also of a Friday evening.
It was certainly busy yesterday and a good job that we had booked a table.
From their card I quote....' In a green valley 1km from Kamares Village (Zelemenos Area) - 2km before Adonis Baths'.
Their contact number is 99459163

Derek & Sylvie

Our local Tavern 'Aristos' in Tsada has just this week started doing Sunday lunches, you have a choice of Pork, Lamb, Beef Roast or Chicken Curry

You also get 20% of drinks & your desert/fruit is included in the price :D

We went o Sunday to show support for our local Taverna just incase not many turned up but he had quite a few bookings, so that was ok, food not bad either :D

Hi Keith

Does The Lagoon still do Sunday lunch?

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I've been really busy at work in the UK and we're having all sorts of trouble with our Cyprus builder, doing oir house...CYPRUS EH?

Anyway, The Lagoon certainly is still doing Sunday lunch.

We've changed the restaurant format a bit and made it a bit more comfortable - now known as The Lagoon Cafe Society. Still great food from Kelvin and service from Hannah and her team. English, Italian, Greek food as well as snacks.

We now open 12:00 midday to 12:00 midnight (Sunday lunch still great). Live music on Friday evening and happy hour from 5-7pm. Check out the advert in "The Grapevine".

Still great food and great value. Or you can go just to chill out over some drinks.

Phew, advert over. Go try it!

:gossip We had Sunday lunch at 'The Prince' today and the standard is still superb, found out today that the chef Bernie (reading the Menu/notice board) is 'Michelin' rated. The price has gone up to €12.95 (Still Buy One Get One Free)two x two course lunches!!!) You can get 2 x 3 course lunch for €15.95 for the summer season but still excellent value for money. Also noticed they are doing all week a range of 'All day Breakfasts' with all the trimmings for €5.00 or a cheaper smaller version for €3.00.
Now the weather is warmer we sat outside in the 'shaded area'
:celebrate :celebrate

The Sunday Lunch food is very good and reasonable priced.

However drink beer and not their very expensive bottled wine.

I really enjoyed Sunday Lunch at St Paul Pillar (the cook use to be at the Seahorse).

I have to say it's the best and big Yorkshire Pudding I've even tasted. And I believe I have had a lot of Yorkshire Puddings.

Generally, its good valve there and massive portion sizes, so if you're not hungry just order a starter or something.

The Petradaki in Kathikas puts on a fine Sunday Lunch.

Bambos the owner also makes his own very acceptable red wine.

They open again after the winter break in March. I would book as they are usually full for Sunday lunch.
