Rumble Tums Christmas dinner the food thanks to Stuart the cook was excellent. Well cooked and presented, we enjoyed all of it. We took our own wine so no great expensive charge for the house variety. There was a considerable wait between each course as they had too many booked for the meal, that a one man cook could not possible handle speedily on his own. Once the food was ready there was ample number of waiters to serve the tables The following is the way below expected standards piece. We had booked for a party of 6, therefore we expected to have a table for six allocated to us. We finished on a table of twenty all very cramped up. The table covering was a gourde Christmassy decorated plastic. The crowning glory was Bucks Fizz served in a paper cup. We did not go to Rumble Tums expecting fine dining standards. However, a paper cup to serve a drink in on Christmas day was an appalling blunder. A follow up to the future of Rumble Tums, Stuart will no longer be working there. Therefore the Sunday Lunches that we so enjoyed will not be available anymore. The owner may have shot himself in the foot with this strange move of his. We will wait to hear reports of the food that is being served before we would go again for Sunday Lunch. |
