Phil and I have been using Imogen's Taverna ever since we came to live in Narnia in February.
Set back off the main street in Kathikas, Imogen's offers well-prepared taverna-style food with a middle Eastern influence. We have eaten there most weeks this year, and have taken many friends and family members to introduce them to our favourite eatery. To date we have never had a bad meal.
The owners are Apostollos and Marina, and Marina's parents Helen and George. They are welcoming, but unobtrusive, and are happy to serve you. The decor is not what you would expect of a regular taverna, and the multicoloured walls are decorated with many interesting prints and photographs which add to the creation of the ambience of the place.
Each day there is a "special" and often there is a "special" starter as well as a main course.
If you like the Eastern influence, try the Imam Byaldi or Falafal. Or just enjoy their souvlaki with homemade chips. Desserts are not a feature of this taverna, but fresh seasonal fruit is offered after the main course, and the alcoholic beverages are always of generous proportions. We have never been able to get the bill to £20 yet!
The taverna closes at the end of November and re-opens at the end of February when an open log fire gives a welcoming glow. For reservations ring 26633269.
Enjoy.
