The Paphos Zingers have not only been busy Zinging around Paphos at many events and bazaars, they have been shaking their pink buckets to relieve their listening public of that heavy and infuriating small change that accumulates in our pockets and purses. The Zingers have decided go one better for their charity and aim to raise more while having fun. Let me introduce you to ZING GB, this is a “not to miss” event, showcasing the eclectic talents of the Zinger group. For those not in the know, (but who should be!). The Paphos Zingers are the only animated Rock Choir, definitely in Paphos but probably on the Island. Their repertoire expands many decades, (as do their members who range from fourteen to “shush it’s a secret). Altogether they bring you a timbale of songs from the 50’s right up to the present day, including songs from the shows. Zing GB is exactly what it says, with the Golden Jubilee events and the Olympics in mind, the Zingers have been under a harsh training regime, vocally I might add!
Their night of fun will include a music quiz, raffles and an auction of some prestigious items, plus a full programme of entertainment performed by the Zingers. The ticket price is only €5 ALL OF WHICH GOES DIRECTLY TO CANCER PATIENTS SUPPORT GROUP. They don’t even take their costs for printing the tickets. You can watch as the “Zingometer” raises higher throughout the nights activities. The atmosphere will be electric. The date for this amazing event is Saturday 21st July 8pm at the Kouinta Café Theatre Konia, locally known as 'The Old Kamaroudi'. It is situated on the main road going up to Konia, just two minutes from Peter Morton’s office
A spokesperson for the Zingers said, “We really want to earn as much as possible for this fantastic charity on the night. Two of our Committee went to see Tom Handley and his team back in January to let them know they were our chosen charity for the year. Ironically both of the members have needed to use their services and are still doing so. This is why we know what a great support they are for anyone out there and this night is going to be so special so we are really looking for as much support as we can get in any form. Inexpensive sponsorship packages are available, please phone any number below. You can donate for the raffle or if any individual has a great idea and can support us with this, we are more than happy to listen. Maybe someone out there has a wonderful cuddly toy they would like to donate so we could all guess the name. Another person could donate a jar of sweets so we can guess how many are in there. Although our main aim is to sell the tickets so you can enjoy an evening of song, you may even want to join in, we don’t mind, we will even let you dance if the fancy takes you. We want to see you in your red, white and blue outfits waving your flags. It is easy to sit back and think that cancer won’t happen to you but if it does, it is reassuring to know there is a wonderful and professional network team out there ready to help you in so many ways, but they need all the financial support they can get. At the moment of going to print we can thank Peter & Marion at Wines of the World for donating a case of supreme fine wine, Maureen Gage for a wonderful sculpture and also Leigh Bishop for 1 weeks car hire, all these item are for auction. Singing is therapeutic so come along and have a fun evening,” there really is nothing quite like the Zingers in Paphos, they are truly unique”

CPSG is Cancer Patients Support Group. I have amended my original post to their full name.

We are asking no-one to contribute to Olympics or the Jubilee but to CPSG!

This event went ahead last night and raised over €3000. Many thanks to everyone who helped. I hope everyone enjoyed the show.

And not a single cent went to the Olympics or Diamond Jubillee. It all went to Cancer Patients Support Group here in Paphos!
